  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    PC/Scanner recognition problems!

I've been thinking it might be more worth it (in the long run) to just get a new(er) Canoscan LiDE scanner instead of fighting with the one I have now. I'm more interested in something that can accurately scan lineart and photographs. Anybody have any opinions on the Canoscan LiDE series...

    PC/Scanner recognition problems!

I don't remember how long ago I got it, but I believe I originally had it hooked up to my iMac (back before the turn of the millenium, I think  ). I posted this over on the "DrawingTogether2" Yahoo Group back in August and received a reply that usually the best thing is to download a...

    PC/Scanner recognition problems!

I tried to install the VistaScan program, but I keep getting this: This is the first-time I have ever seen this message. According to the owner's manual: "The Astra 2100U scanner is equipped with a USB connector that allows you to make a fast and easy connection to the USB port on your...

    PC/Scanner recognition problems!

Hello everyone! I have an Umax Astra 2100U flatbed scanner that has been used maybe a total of five times in the past. Here's my trouble: I installed the software and plugged in the scanner, made sure it was activated, but my PC fails to recognize the scanner. I posted this on the "pc help"...

Christian Romance Novels: Good or Bad? Your Favorites?

Uhhh...I believe that is one of the points of Christian/Inspirational Romance Novels. Also, in CRN's there is no "dirty stuff," unless they are washing laundry. The main point is to show how the characters come to God. If you want "dirty stuff," you're looking for erotica, which you won't...

    For never marrieds

I too am a never-married forty-something. I'm not married only because God has me doing other things (taking care of my bedridden (now dead) father and my mother). Maybe sometime in the future, He might decide it's time for me to have a wife. At that time, I'll let Him choose the one I'll be...

    moses and the rock

Yes, Jesus is the Rock (capital R), but what happened is: 1)In Horeb, Moses struck the rock (small r) and brought forth water 2)In Meribah, God told Moses to speak to the rock, but he struck the rock (just as he did earlier) twice. The only thing Moses was interested in was in getting water for...

Light a Candle In Memory Of A Loved One For Christmas

So true, BarbaraJean, so true. I did find one ring HE made out of a piece of steel. No detail, just a simple steel ring with a flattened top. Unfortunately, my knuckles have calcium deposits on them, so it won't go past the third knuckle. I am not going to ruin it by having it resized...

Light a Candle In Memory Of A Loved One For Christmas

Thanks everyone. My dad was in the Navy during WWII and Korea (though not as a soldier--he worked on airplanes), so he qualified for a full military-style funeral (the works, ya know). But instead of a regular church funeral, we just had the viewing (with sermon by chaplain, remembrances by...

    For my father

Thanks you, symphonyb. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your loved one. Was he or she a Christian? You and your family are in my prayers. Also, happy (belated) birthday to you! I see in your profile that you were born on the sixth? I was born on the seventh! I guess it won't be too...
