  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    What makes Evolution a theory?

Plenty of novel genes have been observed. It's a very common topic in microbiology. Antibiotic resistance is not a basal gene that gets activated after a few generations. It's something that can evolve through many different pathways. In microbiology 2000 and microbio 3000 we'd have antibiotic...

How Long have Humans Lived on Earth?

The years ~5000 BCE to 4000 BCE are quite full of people that have already adapted to the ways of life of Adam, Cain and Abel. Placing Adam in 5000 BCE would make his punishment to toil the soil(genesis 3:17-19) for food an ordinary task for an ordinary person as everyone toiled the land and...

How Long have Humans Lived on Earth?

To me there is a problem with this interpretation. Sure if you add the genealogies in your particular version you get 3976 BCE. But there's other versions with 5500 BCE and 3700 BCE. These are not the most sensible dates for Adam and Eve. Similarly Noah's story isn't sensible in 2200 BCE or even...

How Long have Humans Lived on Earth?

The first historical figures that have names we can see and translate are from about 3100 BCE(5,100 years ago). And they are correctly credited with the invention of writing. Even without all the modern archaeology to confirm it, the Egyptians knew the oldest names of their kingdom. That being...

How Long have Humans Lived on Earth?

Giving all the evidence in one go is quite an incredible task. Historical writing shows up in the Early Bronze Age. But it's in archaeology sites that are tells(mounds, with many layers) have many illiterate layers just below. Even before we knew the "absolute" dates as determined by the...

    Adam

Descriptions of the antediluvian world are hard to comprehend even for people that have spent a lifetime of formal study on the topic. Ascribing history level precision to every line of Moses' poems isn't something high level Christian academics do. Just a few chapters later you have the "table...

    Adam

Not sure about a metaphorical Adam but there is a less literal Adam interpretation. Not everyone see Adam as living to 930 after being specially created in 4004 BCE. Some put it at 5500 BCE or 3700 BCE based on greek and jewish texts. I place Adam on a timeline at about 10,000 BCE as that's the...

    Mytho-History

At least from the perspective of a Natural Historian(myself), Adam's story is most closely represented by a group of people who lived about 13,000 years ago within 100km of the shield volcano that is the source major rivers(like in genesis 2:10). The area itself would have been a mix of...

How the Extinction of the Dinosaurs Gave Us Fruit...

The main phase is about 50,000 years too early with high confidence in the dating. And it's not as close to the antipodes as other impact/volcano hypotheses. Reunion hotspot is more likely.

There's also the issue of the 1 million years of volcanic activity on the other side of the world during this time.

They also changed their cannabis policy. Hemp is fine, prescription pill form is fine. Well controlled mental illness is also fine. Also heard age is a case by case basis up to 42ish.

Why Have Birds Never Gotten as Big as T. Rex?

The main issue with proposing a hypothetical and then including a wrong conclusion: it's a strawman. We know how scientists perceived mammals and birds in the lack of evidence. They carefully documented their ideas about it. Only a few ever got the idea that birds and mammals were more closely...

Why Have Birds Never Gotten as Big as T. Rex?

That's not what we see at all. It's one guy that disagrees with consensus. There's scientists that still disagree that tobacco smoke causes cancers. These people are not part of the general process of science. I can show you textbooks from every decade that argue birds are dinosaurs. No...

Why Have Birds Never Gotten as Big as T. Rex?

HAEMATOTHERMIA: WARM-BLOODED AMNIOTES There have been attempts to make it monophyletic here and there over the course the late 19th to late 20th century. Nothing ever came of it. And it's after Huxley's original and correct classification. More than anything it's been more closely associated...

Why Have Birds Never Gotten as Big as T. Rex?

I like zircons better because they are closed systems. They form relatively rapidly under most cases. And contain two independent systems for measuring age. We don't just know the age of solar material with them, we know the age of many things with them. For example we know that Mars didn't have...
