  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Some clarification...

Enlighten me. I'm genuinely curious what you believe it to mean. If you assert that the eternal human spirit that GOD breathed into Adam has carried down to us, what is it that is being born again? If to be born again assumes something has died, what died?

    Some clarification...

You are asserting that the eternal spirit God breathed into Adam has life inherent. God cannot create another eternal being. Anything God creates has a beginning and is therefore not eternal. Just as, for anything to be immortal or everlasting requires that it is sustained by something...

    Some clarification...

I do not disagree there is a distinction between what transpires between Satan and human kind. However, if everlasting punishment can be argued as simply a state absent from everlasting life, then this only goes to support my view. Only God is eternal, having no beginning or end and existing...

    Some clarification...

It absolutely is. But judgment and punishment are not the same thing. Judgment is when an authority decides what is right or wrong and declares a verdict. Punishment is the consequence that follows that verdict. Judgment determines guilt; punishment responds to it. Judgment leads to an outcome...

    Some clarification...

I am certainly no expert on the subject of time. My small brain has a hard time wrapping around the idea of time and timelessness. But to the best of my current understanding, only God is truly eternal. To be eternal is to have no beginning or end. Or as you put it, timelessness. God is outside...

    Some clarification...

Many of my posts contradict traditional and, often times, denominational theologies. As a result, I inevitably get someone responding in a condescending or patronizing manner. I get it. We are all fallible, and often times reaction tends to proceed a thoughtful response. So, I thought I would...

To Hell or Not To Hell

I’m not sure I would agree with that. Scripture never teaches that Gentiles were ‘cut off’ from God in the sense of being unable to come to Him. We were not part of Israel’s covenant identity, and we were not chosen as the priest-nation, but that has never meant Gentiles were unable to know God...

To Hell or Not To Hell

I recognize a time past as in we all have a past. That is what I see Paul referring to. His own personal history, but withing this present age.

To Hell or Not To Hell

Titus 2:12, Galatians 1:4, Matthew 12:32, Mark 10:30, and Ephesians 1:21 all indicate a present age and an age yet to come.

To Hell or Not To Hell

The present age is the age we are in now, before Christ's return. The age to come is after Christ's return when the heavens and earth are renewed and God's kingdom is now on earth. There is no longer any death.

To Hell or Not To Hell

Lets just start with this one.... Explain to me how in Gen 3:22, where God says the tree of life would be capable of granting Adam and Eve everlasting life if they eat from it, how that is even possible if sin ultimately leads to physical death? How can the tree of life give everlasting life to...

To Hell or Not To Hell

None of my posts are me telling you what you need to believe. They are me giving you my perspective and the 'why' of that said perspective. This post will be different. This post is me still working out what it is I believe about Hell and the why of it. All based within the context of 'my'...

The goal of Christianity in 'Not' to stop sinning!

This is an interesting interpretation which I took time to think about. However, I don't get from the examples of scripture the same conclusion you have. I don't think sinning less is unrealistic. It's just most people place the cart before the horse. They try to reduce sinful behavior in hopes...

The goal of Christianity in 'Not' to stop sinning!

I recognize you are not advocating for Pelagianism or sinless perfectionism. You've never given me that impression from what you've said. But I believe you misunderstand what Jesus is exerting us to do. When Jesus was confronted by the Pharisees with what is the greatest commandment, as you...

The goal of Christianity in 'Not' to stop sinning!

I understand, because you do not know me beyond a very limited exchanging of words on this sight, it would be easy to come to that possible conclusion. My walk with God is not going to look like your walk with God or anyone else, for that matter. Being that you and I are unique in who we are as...
