  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    confusion on Luke 12:41-48

I hope I can shed some light on chastizement in Biblical context. Please bear with me because chastizement is important in our walk here on earth. Jesus used many metaphors and parables, as they were very popular in Jewish writings and teachings and Jesus spoke to His countrymen in the same...

Who is the first Christian to deny the Primacy of Peter or his successors?

I think the RCC elevated "apostle" and blown it out way beyond it's Hebraic roots. The hebrew word would have been "Talmad" (student or emmisary). ALL students or disciples of great rabbi's or sages were known as "Talmadim" - in Greek that would have been translated to "apostle." Sha'ul (Paul)...

Jesus is a God of conditional Love, not unconditional love.

God loved both of them enough to give them a choice. That is the point. (Joh 17:3) "This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (Mat 25:12) "But he answered, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.'

Oh...I see Galatians differently. I do understand the Protestant view that puts Galatians under the posit - "Are we saved by the Law or by Grace?" If we read Galatians with this narrow view, we are no bette off than an investigator who has the crime solved before looking at the evidence - human...

Jesus is a God of conditional Love, not unconditional love.

Thank you. Sorry I missed it. So how do you know the thief repented? What external evidence do you have? Repentance is more than just regret. As someone said earlier, God's love allows choice. That means God loved this thief enough to allow him to choose. That love existed for this person before...

It's better to have questions than to follow the leaven of the pharisees. Do you think it is any different today? Most believers just ape whatever is mainstream. What makes you think those people are any better off than those who cried "crucify him?" God is about relationship, not religion...

Would you do any different if you were in his place? Consider the average road to anywhere in Israel was usually lined with thousands of crucified Jews. What would you have done? Be honest. What is key is what happened to Peter between then and his bearing as recorded by Luke in Acts. He...

Ozell, how come you won't address my question about the thief on the execution stake?

So you don't think God and Abraham had a relationship? You don't think God talked with Abraham, whom He called His friend? If God said Abraham would be a father to many nations, because he obeyed God's instructions (Torah), then how did God convey those instructions to Abraham? he had know know...

Forget the Sabbath day, it's no longer Holy...

Contact is not the same as eating under the same roof. It was considered 'unclean' in 1st Century Judaism for a Jew to dine with Gentiles. That was a man-made ordinance that came from the Great Assembly. As to your Torah reference, for one thing, 1st Century Judaism wasn't Torah observant by...

Out of context. Food to a Jew (Hebrews was written to Jews by a Jew) means something other than food means to you. Jews don't consider garbage scuppers 'food.' Jesus believed in the Bible and lived by it. Aren't you His disciple?

Funny, all I've seen is labels like "legalism" and "messianics," out of context Bible verses and mocking. Usually 'they' ask things like "do you believe in stoning your disobedient child" or "do you wear wool with cotton?" stuff like that. question: Is Jesus the same God as the Elohim of...

Jesus is a God of conditional Love, not unconditional love.

I agree that all who love God should treasure, guard, and keep His commandments. The contention is whether that is a condition of love. Consider these two questions: 1. Do you think the thief that was hung next to Jesus kept God's commandments? 2. Do you think Jesus loved him?
