  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To vote or not to vote? Politics and the Anabaptist Perspective

Adara, you are right. Satan showed Jesus all the kingdoms of the world - and offered them to him if Jesus would bow down and worship Satan. However, Jesus told us, Ye are the salt of the earth... Wherefore, if we act as no brake to the Powers of Darkness, who will? As I stated before, this...

To vote or not to vote? Politics and the Anabaptist Perspective

Academic: In many areas, compromise is possible in the political arena. In others, there is no looking back [for a servant of Jesus]. It is surely my opinion that a Christian, which I am, should not abandon the arena and thus lose by default. But a servant of God who does enter the...

    Non-Denomination V.S. Other?!

UBERROGO -- You have asked an important question. Some churches do, and some do not. Many times the answer to your question is political in nature. Many times the answer lies in the fact that different members interpret the church's dogma differently. When that happens, you have a split...

    Non-Denomination V.S. Other?!

Well, that's a hard question. Who, in his right mind, would presume to speak what God thinks - unless it is to simply quote the unadorned Word of God. That said, I will venture my own thoughts on the subject of denominations. The very number of them is staggering. And, to me that brings forth...

How many believe vision are still happening in peoples lives today

Yes, Christians do still have visions. In fact, the young still have visions, and the old still dream dreams. The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel still visits His children. As it states in the book of Job, God visits a man in a dream on his bed and gives him night visions to hide pride from...

What is the difference between Anabaptists and Primitive Baptists?

Adara, since you apparently have access to source documents, what do Primitive Baptists believe about the Milleniel Reign of Jesus, and do they believe that he is coming back again to rule in this world?

What is the difference between Anabaptists and Primitive Baptists?

Danfrey, your answer was succinct. By stating that Anabaptists believe that Jesus will return and that the gifts operate even today, you infer that Primitive Baptists do not agree?

To vote or not to vote? Politics and the Anabaptist Perspective

Well said! To abandon the political arena is to give the powers of darkness dominion by default. On the other hand, frequently there is no candidate on the slate for whom one can vote. This truly is a conundrum, and one that each Believer should address individually.

What is the difference between Anabaptists and Primitive Baptists?

Do Anabaptists have much the same belief system as do Primitive Baptists? Primitive Baptists, in my present understanding, do not anticipate another coming of Jesus. Neither do they believe that the gifts of the Spirit are for today. I have friends who are Primitive Baptists; they are good...

Pockleberry, one of the ladies who replied to you before this message suggested the truth, that the oppressing voice is demonic. It is written, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Find a...

I am seeking a church in the Pensacola, Florida area which walks in all the power of the New Testament church - one in which all the gifts of the Spirit are in operation. If anyone can help, please post a private message to my account. Thank you. From a Friend in Jesus.
