  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ever been challenged with having to face your fears?
Most modern versions do not use the KJV's words of ending Isaiah 28:16, and therefore do not fully picture what those last four word should bring to mind. "Shall not make haste." The picture these words should bring to mind is FLEEING, running away in a panic of what you are afraid of. But God has provided for us "a foundation", a stone that has been tested and found reliable, a stone that is the cornerstone upon which all the other stones rest their strength upon, a foundation that is "sure", reliable to support us. Next time you have to face any kind of fear, take a good, long look at that Stone, that Foundation, and know that it is JESUS! In Rev 1:8 He is called "The Almighty." He is reliable, sufficient to help you face any fear that may present itself. He will never leave you or forsake you, Hebrews 13:5. Just two chapters later, Isa 30:15 contains these words, which can go along with Isa 28:16, "In quietness and in confidence shall be your strength." Ephesians 6:10-20 tells us to put on the whole armor of God. Genesis 15:1 says "I (GOD) am thy SHIELD, and thy great reward." What a great reward it is to have GOD shield us.
