CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

To be fair to Bonino, he is definitely not part of the cover-up:
FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino was outraged this week during a closed-door White House meeting about the Department of Justice's review of Jeffrey Epstein's sex trafficking case files, according to multiple sources.
Bongino raised his voice during a discussion with White House chief of staff Susie Wiles before storming out of the meeting, according to two sources close to DOJ leadership. Bongino also exchanged heated words with Attorney General Pam Bondi during the meeting, and the whole ordeal has led him to consider resigning from the FBI, another source said.
Another person with knowledge of the meeting disputed the characterization that Bongino yelled at Wiles or Bondi during the sitdown.

That's the thing. The sort of fealty we see given to Trump by MAGA doesn't exist for Bill Clinton. It it turns out that he is as guilty as Trump or Epstein, let him take the hit, too.

If Biden was protecting Trump by not releasing the files in the four years he had them, I suppose that's a possibility.

The DOJ already has access to the files. So does the US attorney general and several other officials. Which was the case during the entire Biden administration. The Biden DOJ and AG also knew who was named in the files as well. It's not like Trump has the files locked away in a personal safe and no one else has had a chance to examine them. They just haven't been released to the general public.

Well once again, the DOJ and AG of the Biden administration had access to the Epstein files. If there were people to put behind bars based on what's on those files, why didn't Merrick Garland act on that?

It's a maybe. Are you saying Biden was protecting Trump by not releasing the files in the years he could have? It goes both ways. Whatever one is going to apply to Trump and his admin, can probably be applied to Biden and his admin, who had them first.

In post #130 you asked: "What's motivating Trump to keep them hidden?". So I said perhaps the same thing that motivated Biden to keep them hidden.
Also hidden from whom? The DOJ and Merrick Garland and several others already had access to those files. There's several officials and law makers who have seen the files who aren't Trump supporters or on his staff.

Trump? No I think Biden was not releasing them because that is not a normal thing the government does. I think it was the conspiracy theorists who think this is a big deal. The only reason anyone cares about them now is it is one of the few avenues where Trump and his supporters disagree.

Based on how long several people in the government have had access to those files throughout two administrations, it seems unlikely there's anything in them that would lead to an indictment of child abuse. If there is, then Merrick Garland and those running the DOJ when the files were obtained would have a lot of explaining to do.
That doesn't seem worth all of the hubbub that's going on over these files. Or is there supposed to be a conspiracy that the democrats are using it to tear the GOP apart or whatever?
