Then fight to fix it.We have labor shortages in those fields of work where those other than US citizens fill the void. It's not about cheap labor, it's about labor period. There were farmers offering deceit wages, free dwelling and 401k plans and still couldn't get Americans to work. And yes, we are in need of legal migration in this country. We still have labor shortages. No one disputes that.
If wages are not attracting enough workers, raise them until they do.We have labor shortages in those fields of work where those other than US citizens fill the void. The problem is the US drug war.because you made the problem of these people the U.S., NOT THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT.
I don't think it's the wages, it's the type of work.If wages are not attracting enough workers, raise them until they do.
Not my point. The "fight" takes place in the voting booth.???? Oh, conservatives take that as a cue to violence, sure
No need to quote a post your remarks have nothing to do with.ah so their own governments taking their wealth has nothing to do with this. Gotcha!!
I don't think it's the wages, it's the type of work.
Farmers overwhelmingly voted for this. Now they get to deal with it.Moreover given slavery and various immigrants the US brought in to do that work, the only time Americans really did that kind of work was during The Great Depression and the Dust Bowl.
Moreover given today, kind of hard to raise wages in this environment of tariff induced cost increases.
Kids did the work as well to make money and learn to work.I don't think it's the wages, it's the type of work.

Yet you quoted my post while apparently responding to something I didn’t say.I don't think so....
Game it out it in light of the obvious solution of just having a pathway to citizenship for those who have no issue with the type of work.If a type of work is looked down upon, unpleasant etc you have to pay a premium for labor. I know, farmers being exposed to any kind of upward pressure on labor costs is horrifying.
Because they are illegal they have no issue with it. You think these people are going to be good with maintaining a slave class as citizens? Why would we want that again, why would they?Game it out it in light of the obvious solution of just having a pathway to citizenship for those who have no issue with the type of work.
The obvious solution is farmers deal with economic realities that they voted to deal with by having their cheap illegal easily exploited labor deported.Game it out it in light of the obvious solution of just having a pathway to citizenship for those who have no issue with the type of work.
As guest workers, they would go home and not be low wage nor hard labor among their own culture. The obvious solution is farmers deal with economic realities that they voted to deal with by having their cheap illegal easily exploited labor deported.
If you have a pathway of citizen for them, then presto-chango, they are not illegal. I don't know about "slave class" specially if that pathway comes with worker protections to keep at bay rules like Texas who wanted to legally limit water breaks.Because they are illegal they have no issue with it. You think these people are going to be good with maintaining a slave class as citizens? Why would we want that again, why would they?
