I don't want to see anything bad happen to any political speaker... I'm surprised some of those guys were still doing those open air speaking engagements that make for a security nightmare. It's surprising there hasn't been a high-profile incident before this.
(Obviously there was the incident with Trump getting shot at an outdoor speaking engagement, but I'm referring to pundits and not politicians)

The incident with Trump should have been a major eye opener that highlighted the challenges with open air speaking engagements. He had arguably the most sophisticated/coordinated personal security detail there is in the form of secret service and even he wasn't immune to it.

A guy setting up a folding table protected only by a few members of campus security has that risk times a million.

Ben Shapiro has been wise enough to keep his speaking engagements indoors, with metal detectors at the doors, and multiple uniformed police officers for security.

I seen the video, the blood was pouring out his neck. I have doubt he made it to the hospital. I don't know him much. But he had two kids. Which is sad.

I saw it from two different angles in videos posted to X which in turn were posted to Reddit. It appears to be massively severe trauma. In addition to hitting a major artery, it could have done severe damage to the trachea and spine. Probably a distance shot from a high caliber rifle.

It's not you, per se, I'd find the same thing amusing from a lot of folks.

What about it do I find amusing? The hypocrisy. The post that offended you cited Kirk as saying that some gun deaths were worth it in order to maintain the freedom to have guns. The question posed is - would he still think it worth it now that it's him lying dead and his kids without a father rather than some nameless statistic?
