• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We've discussed them so many times
No we haven't.
did you forget?
You are mistaken again.
Stone, Manafort, Flynn, Bannon, etc. I think my favorite was when Bannon had a "build the wall" fundraiser, and then stole the money. Similar to the Trump Foundation, as we know.
I haven't heard of any of these guys. Are any of them currently on this Administration; and if so, what does that have to do with the topic of this thread?

He was summoned for a citizenship interview, but was instead taken into custody. The fact that you find his opinions distasteful isn't relevant.
I find this to be relevant:

“The gun shop owner told Windsor, Vermont, police officers that Mr. Mahdawi had visited his store twice, expressing an interest in learning more about firearms and buying a sniper rifle and an automatic weapon and that he ‘had considerable firearm experience and used to build modified 9mm submachine guns to kill Jews while he was in Palestine’,” the papers charge.

The government also pointed to a 2019 incident in which Mahdawi was stopped at the US border and “found to be carrying drugs,” the court filing charges.

Have we abandoned the principle of "innocent until proven guilty"? Being charged with a crime is not the same as being convicted of a crime.
Guests don't have the same rights as a citizen, especially criminal guests.

That doesn't answer my question.
I'll break it down in bite sized steps.

First there is evidence of a crime.

Then there is an arrest.

Then comes the trial.

According to ICE:

According to your .org that skews the facts:
According to information that can be found on the ICE website, it confirms what TRAC reported. 70.4% of detainees have no criminal convictions. If you include immigrants with pending charges, 54.6% currently detained have criminal charges pending or have been convicted of a crime.

I visited the ICE website myself; despite the fact that you didn't leave a link.

I found this to be interesting:

For the FY 2024, 52% of the deportees had no criminal convictions nor pending charges, other than "Criminality: Other Immigration Violator."

Strange that there was no uproar for those 52%, demanding protection for their criminality at that time.

Constitutional rights of due process apply to everyone.

'Our court has held that the term ‘the people’ under the Second Amendment does not include illegal aliens,' U.S. Circuit Judge James Ho wrote

If they have pending charges; why waste the court's time , and taxpayer dollars incarcerating them; or even worse, let a Liberal judge put them back on the street without bail, to rob, murder or rape another victim?
Well, because if we did that, (deport-based-on-“charges”), charges would be filed on all as a matter of course, eliminating the need for the rest of that pesky “due process”.

Guests don't have the same rights as a citizen, especially criminal guests.
Sometimes (how often or not I don't have the figures)
"guests", or even known and proven criminals, enjoy more rights or privilege or money or favor , even though not right, even though unjust, because the system itself is broeken (bribes? power?) and controlled or exercises by criminals (in and out of office, news, politicians, people in power/corporations) daily ?
How do they stand trial without an arrest?

Amplified Bible

30 “I can do nothing on my own initiative or authority. Just as I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just (fair, righteous, unbiased), because I do not seek My own will, but only the will of Him who sent Me.
