In a release exclusively provided to The Federalist, DHS says it hopes to set the record straight and debunk “all the hoaxes” surrounding the message-sending Alligator Alcatraz.
McLaughlin asserts there have been some doozies pushed on social media and through many of the usual Trump-hating corporate media news outlets known for massaging the truth in the furtherance of the narrative they’re feeding.
Correcting the record is particularly important amid escalating assaults against Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents and other DHS officials, Homeland Security said.

Just the name alone implies cruelty.

I find it very hard to believe these detainees are being treated with anything even close to dignity when we see daily how ICE and DHS agents are treating the people on the street when they pick them up. A release exclusively provided to The Federalist, a right-wing website that has often published fake news and promoted conspiracy theories, is not the best way to get facts out to the American people. Providing an exclusive to the Federalist makes the DHS and the DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs look even less credible than they already are.

Are you referring to the brand new facility that has bunk bed, dining facilities and fully climate controlled?

How do you suggest Law enforcement people pick up criminals? Perhaps bring party busses and lure them in with free drinks, asking politely - please Mr. or Mrs Illegal alien - can you get in the party bus so you can be held accountable for your crime.

Transparency is the answer to understand the conditions.

Simply allow the local politicians and staff access to the facility every day. Allow cameras all through the facility with access allowed to outside groups.

To be clear, we need detention centers. And we need many more immigration judges. We also need them being run so that the detainees are treated well. After all, the MAJORITY have not committed any violent crimes. And many have committed no crime at all.

The stated goal of the MAGA base is to deport without due process every undocumented person plus all folks that have overstayed their visas. Some would also deport all first generation immigrants and folks on visas who have committed any crime, including speaking out against administration policies.
