The BLS simply reports what their statistics give them. The methodology is flawed but all estimates are not perfect. No one at the top can change numbers or the methodology on a whim. From time to time their are large variances. I have heard of no variances because of direct manipulation. "The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) calculates the monthly jobs numbers through two main surveys: the household survey and the establishment survey." On the 60k household surveys people can lie. Businesses to can lie in establishment surveys. Ill assume immigration status fears could make the data less accurate too. But it could be as simple that immigrants are driving the job losses?
