While the company complained about "the aggressive nature" of the raids, the company faces no legal trouble. They do face the problem that dozens of workers are not going to show up tomorrow.
It seems lately every ICE intervention is being called an extremely aggressive tactical gear machine gun gestapo assault.
Back in the Deporter in Chief's day, there was more focus on employers to get them to obey the law.

Renowned for its colourful T-shirts and sweaters, American Apparel proudly states in its advertising that its products are made in downtown Los Angeles. But government inspectors in July found that 1,600 of its 5,600 manufacturing staff did not appear to be legally authorised to work in the US and a further 200 had uncertain status.

The White House has made enforcement in the workplace a central part of its strategy to reduce illegal immigration. In April, the homeland security secretary, Janet Napolitano, issued guidelines requiring immigration authorities to concentrate resources on employers who "knowingly hire illegal workers".

Nobody in Los Angeles had to face anything more dangerous than a pink slip. And We The People didn't have to pay to house hundreds of people.
So you're saying this administration has taken no action whatsoever against any company that's harbored illegal aliens? It's hard to imagine Tom Homan saying something like "we're going to give them all a pass".

If the company followed the laws available to them they shouldnt be held accountable.

If you ask me thus just shows how criminal the aliens are who are stealing other people's identities. Just another example of their criminal mindset.

In my experience as an industrial consultant, it was undoubtedly the staffing agency. You can buy those papers anywhere, but they are expensive. Better to let the employer pay for it.

It seems like the E-verify system needs to incorporate some of the features that the big 3 credit bureaus implement when someone puts freeze or fraud alert on their credit file.

For instance, when I purchased my vehicle last summer, I had to actually put a "thaw" on my file, and the bank loan department actually had to call me, and ask me questions (that were provided to them by Transunion) that I had to answer to verify that it was actually me.

From what I'm reading, it sounds like E-verify has pretty much zilch in terms of fraud prevention/detection within that system.

With that in mind it would be very difficult to prosecute a company for hiring illegals when they used a government program to verify that the person they were hiring was legal and the government says they are.

You think the president and the CEO of Glenn Valley Foods in Nebraska are radical illegal-loving leftists, making up lies?

The overall objection regarding businesses who use illegals is no one else will do the job for less money, longer hours without overtime, no worker's rights, no benefits etc.
Exactly. These people are being abused for their labor. Their employers are breaking the law, aren’t they? Shouldn’t we also be prosecuting the businesses who hire undocumented over legal workers?

It’s a bit like focusing on simple drug possession arrests while never going after the dealers, smugglers and producers of the drugs.

I think we should. However we have now been given new information that e-verify is not reliable. These criminal aliens are obtaining false identities and e-verify is certifying them. You can't prosecute a business for hiring people the government says they can hire.

Sounds like e-verify needs to be upgraded.

I think it's possible they were exaggerating.
I know you were exaggerating with your bad faith strawman about "extremely aggressive tactical gear machine gun gestapo assault."

No, that's what people posting the internet have been saying, including on CF. Sorry if what I wrote made it sound like I was saying the CEO of Glenn Valley Foods in Nebraska said that. That wasn't my intention.

...curious if the big beautiful bill contains any fundng for E-verify. The defficiencies with that system have been known for years...yet Congress seemingly does nothing to address them.

Well they're not glad they're not doing them now. They were ok with trampling peoples rights and calling them criminals for being here, but when they found out that's who ran the tilt-a-whirl and now they're gone... They don't understand why.

Deport illegal immigrants! (but not my illegal immigrant)

Say, are fair attendees ready to shell out the price of fair admission with higher paid non-immigrants? (no, of course)

Interesting that ICE somehow knows the precise businesses that are hiring undocumented workers while the very businesses themselves were unaware of who they hired.

Interestingly enough, there have been proposals for both expansion of, and increased funding for, the E-verify system tied in with other immigration reform bills.

However, it faced some opposition from Senate Democrats. (and a promise from Joe Biden to veto it)...as a well a few republican lawmakers.

I suspect certain industries are fully aware of the limitations and loopholes, and like their access to cheap labor, and put pressure on legislators to shoot those sorts of ideas down.

From what I've read, they use a combination of "intelligence streams" to be able to identify business that are involved.

Combination of:

I-9 audits
Identifying businesses that have had multiple prior infractions
SSN identity theft complaints (all tracing back to the same business)
...and of course, tipsters feeding them info

For instance, if a few people have complained about their employer hiring undocumented immigrants, and a search of their records show that 20% of their employees are hired under names social security numbers that have been reported compromised in the past few years, that could be a giveaway.
