  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The thing is, you just don't get people on the left rushing to the internet to post threads about how exciting it is for The Saudis to roll out the purple carpet and how it shows their respect for the strength of Biden. This is just normal stuff, like how Biden wasn't rushing to media to tell them how excited he was to pass a cognative test.
MAGAs are really trying very hard to find something "good" related to Trump and then promote it so hard.
MAGA doesn't have to try really hard to find something good related to President Donald Trump. We are seeing and finding wins and victory every day.

It would be good if people were posting solid stuff, but I'm seeing alot of cheering for non events.
Like cheering that the Saudi's have put out purple carpet. Like cheering that VW thinking about sometime maybe doing some production in USA, like lots of countries wanting to contact USA in response to USA putting tarrifs on. Of course if you stuff up international trade, other leaders are going to want to chat with you and find out what the heck is happening.

None of this is winning.
Post something substantial please, not just silly things that make you come across as desperate.

You wouldn’t have to say this if it were true.

Kind of amusing to see the Christians going goo goo over the 30 pieces of silver.

Investing is not buying weapons, no more than a man buying a Coors light is investing in Coors.
Investing is taking a risk in an enterprise that will produce something. "If an investment involves money, then it can be defined as a "commitment of money to receive more money later"." Investment - Wikipedia

Yes, very scary that the love of money is on display daily.

They can’t. I’ve asked these folks for substance over and over throughout the years and they largely can’t provide it. They can’t differentiate between substance and the propaganda into which they’ve bought.

Trump is even inventing new words that are going to be available for everyone to use! Trump invited the word "equalize" on Monday before going to Saudi Arabia. Dictionary makers are rushing to get this great new word in the latest editions! Congratulations President Trump on your new word!

Trump secures $600 billion Saudi investment pledge on Gulf tour

RIYADH, May 13 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump secured a $600 billion commitment from Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to invest in the United States after the oil power rolled out the red carpet for him at the start of a tour of Gulf states.
Trump punched the air as he emerged from Air Force One to be greeted by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who later signed an agreement with the president in Riyadh on energy, defense, mining and other areas.

Another exaggerated political claim by the Trump administration has been readily accepted by its supporters. Saudi Arabia's GDP ranges from $1.2 trillion to $1.4 trillion. Investing $600 billion in any country, including Saudi Arabia, is an unrealistic figure.

It is essential to critically evaluate the statements made by political parties, irrespective of whether we supported them. The 600 billion figure presented is clearly unrealistic. It is unfortunate that journalists from both sides do not verify such straightforward facts and instead perpetuate these political exaggerations.

$600 billion dollars of investment is huge. The USA is winning and we are making America great again.

if the story is true then it may be great news. But the fact is Saudi Arabia's GDP ranges from $1.2 trillion to $1.4 trillion. Investing $600 billion is an unrealistic figure.

There once was a notorious bank robber named Willie Sutton, one of the celebrity criminals of the depression, like Bonnie and Clyde, etc.

A reporter once asked him, "Mr. Sutton, why do you rob banks?" Sutton looked at him like he was stupid and then said, "Because that's where the money is."

lol, keep telling yourself that. OP launched this thread with easily-falsifiable errors and then, in subsequent posts, doubled down on those errors. Why cast those "pearls" and not something more substantive? Or heck, why not just something more factual?

What are you talking about?

I am talking about the person that the largest majority of people have ever elected in history. The President who is so smart that on national television he asks "what an I signing?".
