He seems pretty qualified. I think peoples complaints are political, not practical.

In terms of experience, I don't think he's horrible. Unlike his boss, he at least has some law enforcement background, though not at the FBI (which would be better - every previous Deputy Director has been a senior FBI agent). Qualifications are more than just the experience on your resume though. For instance, I think it's a mistake to put someone in a government leadership position who has said things like "The only thing that matters is power. A system of checks and balances? Haha, that's a good one!"

That's not a political disagreement - someone who does not respect the foundations of our government or the rule of law is manifestly unqualified for a leadership position in the country's top law enforcement agency.

2) Given he HIMSELF worked security detail for presidents, it DOES seem weird that he would want one.

2) Given that he has indeed worked security details for presidents when he was in the Secret Service, it seems like to me that he would know whether or not he himself as Deputy Director would know if he needs a security details.

I don't know him personally, and obviously, I am not a mind reader. However, I have listened to his show on the radio and watched his podcasts on Rumble for several years. Unless he is the consummate actor, I submit that I have a decent understanding of his personality.

He’s a professional media personality. Of course he’s an actor. This is especially true of anybody doing a show that isn’t primarily interview-based journalism. If you haven’t grokked that, then you don’t know nearly as much as you think you do.
