Nothing; just countering an attack.Yes, we understand Putin's perspective.
btw, what does this have to do with Canada? Or is Canada encroaching on Russia too?
But wars usually start if the Crypts enchroch on the Bloods territory. common sense?. No, we don't need permission if we thirst for bloodshed. Now I'm on the side of the Democrats or old Democrats to reduce military spending. So what. I didn’t know we needed permission from Russia to do things.
LOL, you mean that right wing mistake of Brexit?
On a more serious reaction, if Canada wants to join into the EU, then I don't believe that I got a problem at all with that.
And most of that sold to the US is oil. And you will see Trump provide a exemption for oil.17% of US exports go to Canada.
77% of Canadian exports go to the US.
A minor inconvenience for the US.
A recession for Canada.
All this can be avoided simply by having fair trade.

It’s crips and we’re talking about countries with state departments and foreign ministries and diplomats, not rival street gangs. And let’s keep in mind the Russians are the only ones who have encroached on anyone’s territory here. But wars usually start if the Crypts enchroch on the Bloods territory. common sense?.
If you’re scared of the Russians just say that. No, we don't need permission if we thirst for bloodshed.
I remember a time when both parties agreed opposing Russia and allowing countries to fall to their influence was in the best interests of the United States. You want us to make peace with our adversaries while engaging in economic warfare against our closest allies. A completely backwards approach to foreign policy. Now I'm on the side of the Democrats or old Democrats to reduce military spending.
It's the same principle on a larger scale. Common sense! What Russia did was wrong, but Ukraine and Georgia were Russia's redline, and if we can't respect that, then we are too arrogant. It’s crips and we’re talking about countries with state departments and foreign ministries and diplomats, not rival street gangs. And let’s keep in mind the Russians are the only ones who have encroached on anyone’s territory here.
Again, I ain't scared of nothing except God and my wife and kids.If you’re scared of the Russians just say that.
That was 20th-century stuff. Russia wasn't an influencer after 1990.I remember a time when both parties agreed opposing Russia and allowing countries to fall to their influence was in the best interests of the United States.
Are you ranting? I neither want wars or economic warfare. The US is pretty good at economic warfare with sanctions. You want us to make peace with our adversaries while engaging in economic warfare against our closest allies.
Do you honestly think that there are no tariffs in Europe or China? Shipping their product to another continent will not raise the cost?Canadians will just sell their goods elsewhere, like Europe or China.

What a strange argument. Suppose I start kneeing my friends in the groin. How odd would it be for me to be surprised that they are upset with me and for me to argue "if knees to the groin are enough to damage a long-lasting friendship, perhaps that friendship is not as strong as I was led to believe".Also, if insults are enough to damage a long lasting alliance, then perhaps that alliance over these last several decades might not have been as strong as we had been led to believe.
maybe that would apply to the FIRST time, when my friends say they don't find a playful joke as funny, and find it rude, and inconsiderate, I don't keep making it every few days.IMO, I believe that I am seeing a lot of misconceptions and over reactions from Canada and other countries.
Certainly not? Why? If China imposes tariffs on goods made in the US - what makes you think they will not impose tarifis on similar goods made in Canada?Maybe, but certainly not at the rate of tariffs they face in the US.
My friends from Toronto see it a bit differently - they see it as a wise guy kind of jab at their country because of the economic state it finds itself in.maybe that would apply to the FIRST time, when my friends say they don't find a playful joke as funny, and find it rude, and inconsiderate, I don't keep making it every few days.
Didn't say they don't. What I said was China is not imposing the same across the board tariffs as the US is doing with Canada.Certainly not? Why? If China imposes tariffs on goods made in the US - what makes you think they will not impose tarifis on similar goods made in Canada?
Got proof?Didn't say they don't. What I said was China is not imposing the same across the board tariffs as the US is doing with Canada.
Donald Trump did NOT really threaten Canada with military force. As for economic pressure, it is well known that the Canadian economy doesn't have to spend too very much on their military because of their NATO alliance and their long, long alliance with the USA. On the other hand, Canada has had, and still does have, very strong tariffs on American imports. What President Trump has said that there is going to be reciprocal tariffs on Canada in response to the Canadian tariffs on American products. He was negotiating with Trudeau and Canada in order to get them to do more for northern border security than they been doing in the past. His suggestion of Canada of becoming a US state is not one with which I would ever agree with. However, it is also very, very clear that there is less than a snowball's chance in Hades that Canada would indeed become one of the states in the USA. Everyone acknowledges this. Yet, our friends in Canada appear to get very, very, very insulted over an idea or suggestion that we know simply ain't going to become a reality at all.I'm in the US and I'm familiar with American customs. It's still considered low-brow behavior, for the most part, and not meant to be taken seriously. Certainly not something that would be used in diplomatic discourse with an ally. Trump, on the other hand, was being very serious and threatening Canada with economic or military force if they didn't agree to his demands that they give up their sovereignty. And that's very offensive and isn't funny
The leaders of Greenland are too thin-skinned and too proud, in my opinion, if they are going to allow themselves to leave the alliance because of stuff like that. When Greenland and Denmark say "no", it means "no". Continuous threatening or sending high officials there for "private visits" is not how alliances are made or kept.
NATO is not anywhere close to being gone at all. Let is please not believe that the hyperboles are actually true. These are new ones on friends - when I thought a good policy might be to put tariffs on rivals.
That alliance IS not as strong as America had led us to believe.
Trump shattered it.
NATO is gone, and America has a friend of democracies is gone. While Trump might ride out this administration without a major powers war (note I said might) - what about the next guy? How can any of us in the Western world believe America will not elect some equally treacherous candidate again?
There's always Deutsche Bank.We should be friendly towards Russia, it's the only way some Americans can get bank loans.
As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space....Can't you see Russia from Canada?
