President Trump on Tuesday floated the idea of the U.S. taking over the Gaza Strip, saying America should be responsible for clearing the territory of rubble and unexploded bombs and proposing an “economic development.”

Trump’s remarks are some of his most extreme rhetoric regarding the future of the territory where nearly 2 million Palestinians live and hope to be part of a future Palestinian state. Trump also suggested the U.S. would develop the land but gave no details on who would be allowed to live there.

I've already heard Kushner wants to build beachfront condos on the graves of innocent women and children. That's who America voted for.

This sounds even more crazy than the last proposal. Unless the US is willing to take half of those refugees on its own, then why would Jordan or Egypt?
The question of where they will go and who would be left with the bill is still the question.

Words fail me. Anyone who now supports Trump needs to do some serious introspection. The President of the United States - let that sink in - is suggesting the forced expulsion of millions of people from another country. And then talks about redeveloping as if it was yet another real estate deal.

What a dumpster fire.

The answer? No one. Also, what about Palestinians that don't want to move? Who's going to move them?

Well, if the bill isn't paid, no service.
No service isn't going to get people to move. It'll just make people hungry and potentially more violent.

Not that I disagree, but, cutting funding to Gaza isn't going to magically convince Egypt or Jordan to take a million refugees.

Trump's plan is completely unrealistic. I'm not sure why he would even say something so off the wall. Like 2 million people are just going to get up and walk into the ocean or something.

What I was saying was that since there is no one actually stepping up to do the job, it won't get done.

So until that gets decided, nothing will actually happen.

The plan itself is missing parts, we will have to wait to hear the rest of Trump's story time.

The US Military, presumably. If the Iraq and Afghanistan wars weren’t enough to regret wasting lives on, this will surely be the most egregious waste of life in modern military history of Western countries if it comes to military involvement.

I'm beginning to wonder who Trump & Kushner really are.

Hello.

I thought to point out that the Gaza strip is the size of like Detroit. It's not the size of a country, it's the size of a small city.

The Palestinians will indeed have to move for rebuilding efforts.

There's unexploded ordinances everywhere plus they ripped out water lines for bomb making materials and more.

People actually do have to move because top to bottom Gaza needs to be rebuilt so people can live and thrive there again.

It's also the most densely populated place in the entire Middle East. They need to move just to find work and thrive as people need to do.

Arab nations have been refusing to allow Palestinians in their countries as fellow citizens and we need to change this so that the most amount of people possible can have work and a chance at a good life.

The above is what Palestinians who are not a part of Hamas want. Just a future, hopefully among Arabs. We can help with agreements so that some can simply leave and go have a life. All won't be able to and all won't want to, but many will, if we can get the Arab countries to help. It's their people.

There are a lot of assumptions built into this. It is possible to be displaced within Gaza during repairs without actually needing to leave gaza. Additionally, nobody is going to volunteer to take on a million refugees.

"Arab nations have been refusing to allow Palestinians in their countries as fellow citizens and we need to change this so that the most amount of people possible can have work and a chance at a good life."

We cannot force Arab nations to take on millions of refugees.

I think it is melodramatic to suggest that condos are going to be built on the graves of women and children. But I would prefer condos as opposed to more terrorist compounds and tunnels. Which is what I would expect Gazans to do.

I think it is interesting how the same people who demanded countries take on millions of Syrian refugees are now silent about taking Palestinian refugees.

LOL, Arafat himself was not a "palestinian". He was an Egyptian.

Palestinians are Arabs. Specifically Arabs who originally were subjects of the old Ottoman Empire.

That's how the British got the land in the first place.

Most "Palestinians" are simply Arabs who came there to kill Jews. Most aren't actually from that area, but from surrounding nations.

Some are from the land, most are not.

These people are Arabs, and it's to the Arabs to help end this situation for their brothers and sisters.

Do you remember the original mujahideen in Afghanistan? They were Pashtun but the Taliban wasn't - they were often from surrounding nations. They were just extremists, they couldn't even give instructions to the native Afghans because they were foreigners.

It's the same situation in Gaza, but has been going on for longer than we've been alive. It started before my parents were even born. Most are just Arabs from the surrounding nations and the Arab nations have refused to take them back because they are extremists.
