Let's set aside for a moment whether the sermon is progressive or conservative. Over the last decade, conservatives have often labeled the left and Democrats as “woke,” accusing liberals of intolerance towards differing opinions. I agree with many of these accusations from conservatives. There are universities where conservative speakers are not permitted to speak. In some institutions, conservative students who express their opinions are ostracized by their peers.

Don't you think conservatives are now exhibiting similar behavior towards this priest?

Some Conservatives are doing exactly what they accuse liberals of doing—wokeism.
Not necessarily. She was basically scolding him. She had a right to say what she wanted, but that doesn’t mean people don’t have a right to respond.

Are those things she suggested, and is there evidence those things are not already being done?
If you read what I wrote (or watched her sermon) you would know that she did not suggest anything. She just asked for mercy. No, there is no evidence that those things are not being done already. They were just quick examples of ways I thought of to exhibit some mercy while still enacting his agenda.

What evidence do you have that the separation of families was intentionally meant as a deterrent?
This was well publicized at the time. Here is an interview of Trump defending it

Could you provide the text where she was scolding president Trump?

When she was PLEADING for mercy for immigrants, LGBT et al, I got the impression she was telling Trump he wasn't being merciful.

If a pastor encouraging the congregation to be merciful is considered scolding, then I should reconsider attending church.

My pastor advises us every Sunday to be merciful, suggesting that he believes we may lack mercy.

My pastor teach us every Sunday to be faithful to God, apparently my pastor thinks we are all unfaithful sinner .

Recently, my pastor gave a sermon on being faithful to one's spouse. It made me wonder if he thinks I'm sleeping around.

President Trump should reconsider attending church services. There are numerous sermons focusing on fire and brimstone for those who do not seek forgiveness from God.

Her message on mercy was based on gospel and Biblical truth. It's unfortunate that a party advocating for free speech and religious freedom and claim to support Christian couldn't accept it.

Biblical truth? To support illegals crossing our border and support a sinful lifestyle? Mercy? Yes! Affirmation? No.

The issue of illegal border crossing or the legal status of a person is a political matter, not a religious one. In the Sermon on the Mount, when Jesus speaks about feeding the hungry, there is no mention of their legal status.

Do you hold the same opinion when President Trump calls people names, belittles them, and mocks them in a public forum? He has said much more scurrilous things than came from the Bishop's mouth. Where is that outrage?

No. I'm not defending Trump when he bullies people. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Ok? Fair enough. Bishop Budde was still trying to push a leftist agenda.

Answer my questions, and I will answer your thinly disguised accusation.

It does not matter whether you answer the question or not. The accusations and attacks on Bishop Budda over the past two weeks illustrate the beliefs of many conservative supporters, particularly some of President Trump.

Many conservatives accuse that liberals and college campuses promote tolerance in theory, but in reality, they are often intolerant of differing viewpoints. I concur with this assessment.

Today, on college campuses and among liberals, there is an emphasis on tolerance for homosexuality, transgenderism, diversity, and various religions, especially Islam. However, some liberals can’t tolerate Christian perspectives, lifestyles, or teachings.

However, there appears to be a contradiction in the behavior of some conservatives. While they criticize liberals for being intolerant, accuse the Biden administration of suppressing free speech, and claim that Democrats do not practice religious freedom, they simultaneously engage in similar actions towards Bishop Budda.

Since Bishop Budda gave her sermon, numerous conservative elected Republican officials have accused and condemned her. There is a bill in the US Congress to condemn Bishop Budda.

It's fine if you call the Sermon on the Mount a lefty agenda.
Reminds me of those prophets who criticized Israel for not helping the poor and needy.

More bible for the scribal knife.

Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire. (Jeremiah 36:23)

Did Bishop Budde refer to the Sermon on the Mount? Did anyone read the Sermon on the Mount during the service? Was there a reference to Matthew Chapter 5 - 7 anywhere?

There is no need for further debate. However, it is evident that American Christianity has evolved. It appears to be increasingly influenced by political ideology rather than Biblical principles.

Some Christians believe that abortion can be justified, gay marriage is acceptable, and homosexuals can serve as priests if they follow Jesus' teachings about social justice, feeding the hungry, and caring for the poor and weak.

Some Christians oppose abortion, disapprove of same-sex relationships, but acts of mercy and showing compassion is lefty liberal socialist agenda.

What did she mean by mercy? By implementing leftist values? That’s my interpretation of her sermon.
