WASHINGTON (OSV News) — Within the first week of President Donald Trump’s return to the White House, he used executive authority to block taxpayer funds from paying for elective abortion procedures both in the U.S. and abroad and delivered a virtual message to the March for Life rally on Jan. 24, while Vice President JD Vance addressed marchers in person.

Trump’s comments and the directives he issued marked something of a return to the pro-life cause after his efforts to strike a moderate tone on the issue during his campaign or even distancing himself from the issue entirely, such as when he stated abortion should be a matter for the states rather than Congress and said he would veto a federal abortion ban if one reached his desk.

But a number of pro-life activists who spoke with OSV News at the annual rally praised Trump as taking decisive action on the issue in the first days of his second term. Others pointed to Congress’s failure to pass the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act the same week and ending federal funds for Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, as significant unfinished business.

I always think of Sr. Joan Chittister's comment about lacking morality if you never act on children educated, children fed, children housed.
And now there will be so many more whose needs can be ignored and neglected by Republican cost-cutters.
It's time for the party in power to step up its social justice policy.

More money, more resources and more time than ever before is being spent to help needy children despite what liberals in the media and liberal politicians are saying.

Yes, children deserve to have BOTH a mother AND a father, deserve to be fed, housed etc.

HOWEVER, no amount of EXCUSES will make ABORTION EVER ok! PERIOD!

Abortion is the modern holocaust of our time.

Disgusting!

They are still under Biden's spending plan. We'll see, but I'm not holding my breath.
Biden is an abortion activist.

Time is NOT on his side.

Hopefully he publicly repents before it's too late.

Biden has retired with grace and dignity. Like most former president's, save one, he will set up a library and foundation. I am sure his will be focused on cancer ( he already does that) and saving many lives in the third world.
Focused on democracy.
I have absolutely no concerns about his soul.
He was loyal to his party platform, 99% of it good, with a few positions that conflicted with his faith. He accepted those to protect us against a greater threat--the oligarchical dictatorship of DJT--and did what historians agree was an amazing job---distorted and altered by savage conservative media and a dishonest demagogue leading them on.
I am sure he has received the sacraments but he has nothing to apologize for to the American people.

Faith? What faith?
Is your definition of faith so narrow that it excludes everyone not in lockstep with you?
He is the most faith-filled president since Jimmy Carter (who was also pro-choice). A frequent Mass attendees, good friend of the Cardinal in Washington, DC.
Judge not...as Jesus said.
He prayed for Americans every day.
Does the president selling branded crypto to gullible Americans do that?

I'm asking a fair question. Can you provide any quotes from Biden where he expresses exactly what his faith is? Attending any church says nothing about whether one has a genuine personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And does the fruit Biden bears - like promoting murdering babies, homosexuality, transgenderism, ect. - give evidence of one in obedience to God's Word?

Same question goes for Trump. Or Harris. Or any of us.

As for Trump in particular, don't be so hasty to make assumptions about whom you are engaging, please. Not all Christians are easily fooled. Imho, the fact that Trump waves a Bible with an American flag on the cover and gives lip service to Jesus - does not obscure the observations that he focuses all of his efforts on glorifying himself, engages in unrelenting self-righteous character assassination of his opponents (as do 99% of politicians), excuses sins of the past rather than repenting, and most pointedly - as of his last clear statement on his "faith" - said that he feels no need to ask God for forgiveness - clearly spitting on the work done by Jesus on the cross.

Fair enough?

So my question remains in regards to Biden. What faith?

Here's an article that goes into great depth and detail about Biden's faith.
I think that Biden typifies many, and perhaps most, Catholics today. Pope Francis describes it very well.
I know it describes me and most of my Catholic friends, including a great many religious sisters.
Jonathan Haidt would say that people's moral foundations are based on certain principles.
According to moral foundations theory, differences in people's moral concerns can be described in terms of five moral foundations: an individualizing cluster of Care and Fairness, and the group-focused binding cluster of Loyalty, Authority and Sanctity.[9][21]
The "pay, pray, and obey" Catholics (a common description) are people who embrace authoritarianism--even when a presidential candidate threatens to create chaos in their government and destroy its foundations.
Then there's us, a pretty big "us." The care and fairness people. The people who don't want their consciences replaced, who think, debate, struggle, advocate.
I know so, so many very holy people who fit into this template, and Joe Biden is one of them. When they pray, they open their bare souls, and don't pray through filters. They want a relationship with God, to walk with God.
I respect all people of faith, those who embrace authoritarianism and those who are in the care and fairness group--but I understand the second group much better.

Read the whole link, and not a peep from Biden himself about whether he has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and faith in His Word. Not surprising, as promoting murder and sexual perversion is a clear defiance to God's commands. How do you think Biden or any of us should answer to the following admonitions from Jesus?

Luke 6:43-48 ESV
"For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks."
"Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you?

John 14:20-21 NIV
"On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you. Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

So again, what faith? Can you provide any direct quotes from Biden himself about his faith in Jesus and his Word? The accolades of mere men mean nothing as to the true spiritual state of their heart and soul. One's own testimony and fruits speak most authoritatively.

As for the mutual admiration between him and Francis, this too isn't surprising - as Francis teaches the clear *heresy* that all religions lead to the same God - also in direct opposition to Jesus' Word:

John 14:6 NIV
"Jesus answered, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

So again, any direct quotes from Biden about his faith? Btw... I do pray for him and Francis often.

I am satisfied with the article. You are free to research.
I am not a sola scriptural believer, and I get upset at the cherry picking of verses they sometimes employ.
That's regrettable, as devotion to Jesus through His Word provides our sole protection against false teachers and wolves in sheep's clothing...

2 Timothy 4:1-10 NIV
"In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry."

God bless!

His praise of nuns on a bus and them escorting women into abortion clinics. Officiating the marriage of a same sex couple regardless of what his Catholicism teaches. And more.

Lying about not issuing his son a pardon. On Inauguration Day pardoning the rest of his
family last minute on the sly. He’s faithful on what he chooses to follow. But you know, it his faith.

He knew if Trump would try to overthrow the government to get his way, Biden knew his child, convicted of an offense that is dismissed for 299 out of 300 people, was in mortal danger from a man blinded by vengeance and hatred.
All parents can understand this.

Lol! He lied. Right to our face. Great excuse and the narrative came in handy but I think he had bigger fish to fry.
