The Cold War has been over for 34 years. Most of these problem were caused by a corrupt Russian government, especially the person on top of it for most of that time Vladimir PUtin.

1) Who do you mean by we? The US has no say over whether or not he would be prosecuted by war crimes. That's the jurisdiction of either Ukraine (as the victim of the crimes) or the ICC, which the US is not a member of. 2) Appeasement doesn't work before the fact and it sure won't work after the fact. If we establish a pattern of ignoring war crimes, then there is no reason for any nation to avoid them.

What if there were four new observer seats ?

One Russian observer seat in European Parliament.

One Russian observer seat in US Congress.

Then the EU and the US would each get one observer seat in Russian Parliament.

I consider this to be an excellent idea. However, before it can be implemented, the following steps must happen.


Russia leave Ukraine, including Crimea.

Russia should withdraw from all territories it has occupied since the Cold War.

Putin should step down and hold free and fair elections in Russia, allowing all political parties to participate.

NATO proposes the inclusion of all B7 countries into NATO, while the EU aims to integrate all B7 countries into the EU.
