This was not Congresses budgeting plan.
My bad. I must have been thinking of another article that I read on the subject, which mentioned the cutting pork projects like renovating a stadium in DC.read the Fox article. Lots of bragging about page count reduction....not much about spending reduced.
The DOGE brought Christmas early this year.Call it Christmas spirit if you will.
Except that wasn't in the bill anyway. There was a provision shifting administrative control of the stadium and some surrounding property to the DC government, but there was no money attached to it for renovations. It was something Elon lied about. My bad. I must have been thinking of another article that I read on the subject, which mentioned the cutting pork projects like renovating a stadium in DC.
the renovation and relinquishment of Robert F. Kennedy Stadium to city officials in Washington, DC.Except that wasn't in the bill anyway. Comon we all know there was zero pork in all rhat was eliminated. It was all just administrative material with no money attached.
Maybe they believed the lie that Elon spread. Here's the relevant language from the bill itself.the renovation and relinquishment of Robert F. Kennedy Stadium to city officials in Washington, DC.

The language in that section is confusing. They often write them that way on purpose.
Reading the bill, I think I understand where the confusion is coming from. It allows for the stadium to be renovated, which requires federal permission since the federal government owns it, but doesn't allocate any money to it.The language in that section is confusing. Maybe Newsweek is confused too.

Well after all, it was put forth as a revitalization act.Reading the bill, I think I understand where the confusion is coming from. It allows for the stadium to be renovated, which requires federal permission since the federal government owns it, but doesn't allocate any money to it.
and of course you can back that up with facts - I can hardly wait!Comon we all know there was zero pork in all rhat was eliminated. It was all just administrative material with no money attached.
It continues to lubricate the skim of public funds for corporate profit. Just a small preview of things to come.Yes, and the health care middlemen are very grateful, but I am left to wonder how this increases efficiency.

Do we really have such low hopes for the incoming administration that keeping the government from shutting down is a "triumph"? Isn't that pretty much the baseline for what we should expect rather than something to celebrate?Yes this was a triumph for the incoming presidency and congress. This kept the government open which allows the incoming administration to concentrate on rhe agenda and not immediately having to deal with a shut down government right now.
Also, it is weird that this one particular (false) talking point keeps getting repeated rather than us reading a long list of "pork" in the funding bill. If there's literally one (false) example for these talking points to recycle, it's almost as if there might be some disconnect between the claims about the need for more efficiency and the actual need.Except that wasn't in the bill anyway. There was a provision shifting administrative control of the stadium and some surrounding property to the DC government, but there was no money attached to it for renovations.
