  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

During former President Donald Trump's rally at the Riverfront Sports Complex, FOX56 saw several people holding "Scranton Firefighters for Trump" signs.
However, the union posted on its official Facebook page Wednesday stating that no members of Local 60 were carrying the signs.
"The signs seen were not a representation of SFD Local 60 nor an endorsement of any candidate," the union said on Facebook.

“None of our guys were holding those signs that I’ve seen. I can’t really control what other people do. I would assume the post I made I thought it would set the story straight that we didn’t endorse a candidate. If another candidate comes something like this happens again I would have pretty much to do the same post,” explained Allen Lucas the Scranton Fire Department firefighter’s union president.

Again local 60 has not endorsed a presidential candidate the sign’s origins are unknown a spokesperson for the trump campaign tells 28/22 News they did not make them.

This isn't the first time this year that Trump has faked endorsements from union workers. He also has faked endorsements from celebrities such as Taylor Swift (after she called him out on it, he posted like a petulant teen, "I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT") ^_^

I find this not only dishonest but pathetic from a grown man.

Perhaps Donald Trump himself was not aware that the local people in the campaign was falsely appearing to show that union endorsement.

From his Tulsa rally in the height of the pandemic in 2020 (the one that caused Herman Cain to get fatal COVID) I know he orchestrates his fan base.
He had online solicitations to get black men to attend "an event" in Tulsa on that day, offering them $20 and a free t-shirt. At the height of the pandemic, it was the only "event" happening. He expected (and probably reported) about 15,000 but media said it was only about 5,000 unmasked people when the pandemic was 2 months old.
The campaign probably printed the signs as well. If the theme of every rally is "Fear and Falsehood" 2024, why should we expect real firefighters and real signs?

Were those legitimate / confirmed or were they one of many hoaxes?

They certainly look like professionally-printed campaign signs.

Do y'all really want to talk again about the COVID-19 pandemic which had less than a 1% fatality rate unless a person had comorbidities? Nevertheless, on the topic of local campaign organizations for Trump OR Harris, I'm not going to hold the candidates responsible for signs & stuff done by local campaign staffs.

That would hold more water if 1) he hadn't accused the Harris campaign of shipping in paid supporters and 2) if he hadn't done this before.

Mr Trump and by extension the entire membership of the GOP has never once lied or obfuscated the truth for personal gain.

Trump proved that he was incapable of handling an actual, sustained crisis. The USA had one of the higher death rates of western countries - Russia and Mexico "winning" with Brazil and the USA coming in third and fourth, neck and neck.

Of course not. Probably not even for stealing songs after the artists demanded they stop, right?

And that's part of the peoblem with Trump. It ain't just him. It's an up and down peoblem too.

Suddenly we have people faking representing someone else and that is not an ethical problem for the party.

You have people distributing these signs and t-shirts randomly.

There is no more ethical standard of behaviour.

When has Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or other leaders in the Democratic Party consistently demonstrated ethical behavior on the campaign trail? Too much of what they say when campaigning are lies and half-truths.

I've already debunked the story to you close to a year ago - I live in the Tulsa area -

Please stop posting misinformation.

We all saw it on Craigslist. It just gave a number but it was obvious who it was for.

A fabricated Craigslist advertisement offering payment to actors to pose as protesters at a Phoenix rally for former U.S. President Donald Trump dates back to at least 2017 and is recirculating in March 2024.
A Facebook post, opens new tab of a screenshot says in part, “Actors needed (Phoenix Convention Center). Actors/help needed for event tomorrow from 2-11pm. $15 per hour. Duties include protest activity and holding signs that are Pro Trump. Minorities welcome and needed! Looking to fill about 500 spots.”

Reuters addressed, opens new tab the same fabricated screenshot when it circulated online in June 2020. The screenshot was also posted previously on Facebook in November 2019, opens new tab.
An article published on the AZ Central website reported in August 2017, opens new tab that a similar Craigslist ad offering $10 per hour for actors to fill roles as Trump supporters in Phoenix appeared that year.

The ad as seen in the circulating screenshots does not exist, opens new tab on the Phoenix “talent gigs” page of Craigslist.

It is a lie.
