  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

That's not how it works. No, the archbishops don't have that authority.

They could give archbishops that authority.
In theory, but it isn't going to, there would need to be a process and approval from the curia and likely other parts of the RCC. Even the Pope could not make an ex cathedra statement to that effect. The Pope and the RCC has been consistent and clear that the Church does not accept female priests, they believe it to be impossible. Doing so would have massive consequences on other beliefs, such as Apostolic Succession.

It is clear to the Catholic Church that even in the priesthood of Aaron God did not allow a female to be a priest, thus it cannot be done. God has brought forth female prophets and leaders and the highest position within the Church (Sainthood) has had many females but never once was a female in the role of a priest.

Mary of Bethany ?

Mary Magdalene ?
Take this to the Catholic forum; see how much traction you can gain there. The importance of the Mary's is not in dispute, but like all of us who are not called and ordained to preach the Gospel or administering the sacraments; our calling in the priesthood of all believers is to serve the Lord in what ever capacity with what ever gifts we have to serve; short of the public preaching and administration of the sacraments.

Forgive me if I am reading this wrong, but in the context of the Catholic Church as well as my Church (LCC), this whole idea seems more centered around self than around God. It is about what you want rather than what God and His Church has stipulated and maintains.

The Catholic Church offers a few more opportunities for women than does my church. Various convents and religious orders are available, we have Deaconesses (different than Deacons). Women reading from Scripture within the context of the liturgy, and even assisting during mass, which we do not allow.

Time posting here about what you can't do might bear more fruit if you spent more time seeking opportunities to serve our Lord, in humility, within the parameters of your Church, within our station in life where God has placed us.

Pray earnestly for the direction you need and don't worry about what you want but submit to what God wants, as Christ submitted to the Father's will, sacrificing His very life on the cross for us.

Rember, serving our Lord in what we see as the smallest of ways is no less important. Matthew 25:40;

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

The number 13 means bread.

A baker’s dozen.
A priest is called father. A woman’s role is as mother. She can never be a priest.

All of feminism seeks to destroy motherhood. That is the one thing to which God can call a woman that a man can never be.
Abortion? Kills a baby, destroys motherhood
Contraception, sterilization? Prevents motherhood and renders a woman a plaything of men
Working woman? Abandons children and leaves them adrift at the mercy of the state
Transgender? Eliminates women entirely by making men look like women but can never be mothers, else destroys a woman to look like a man

No, the Catholic Church will never have women priests. We promote women to be the mothers and sisters that God has ordained them to be. We do not destroy motherhood in the false claim of making them equal to men

John Paul II infallibly declared that the Church has no authority to ordain women

Assuming she was indeed the thirteenth person to follow Jesus (and I have no idea how you know she was), the fact that in English we call thirteen "a baker's dozen" does not add to the argument that she must have been a priest.

A woman priest could hear a woman’s confession
and tell her abortion is a sin.

A woman priest could better organize women
to have free child care.

St. John Paul II said each archbishop could decide if
they have female alter servers.
A woman can give free childcare herself. She does not need a woman priest to organize that for her. Children need their mother. True religion helps widows and orphans, it does not promote rogue women that intentionally want to live as widows allegedly free of men

We do not need women priests to know how to help widows and orphans. We do need men to step up to be husbands and fathers instead of doormats for feminists
A woman does not need a woman priest to tell her abortion is a sin. All of creation already knows that. If not, they can have an eternity to think about it

Women need to be told, you are a mother or a sister, you will never be a father
