  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Regardless of what your political part affiliation is, if any,
this sort of opinion by Tucker Carlson OUGHT TO BE POINTED OUT AS
A CRUDE IGNORANCE OF HISTORICAL FACTS.

By the way, the IBM company sold Hitler its punch card inventory control
machines, so that the Nazies could keep track of what was in every rolling
box car in Germany. And THAT, included people headed to slave camps,
and extermination camps. The Holocaust was PLANNED.

Go read the book.

Obviously, Tucker Carlson hasn't.

Just curious, was the sole use and purpose of those cards to track people in boxcars?

Inasmuch as the Nazis were transporting a lot on trains besides Jews to prison camps (munitions from factories to the military, for instance), then I'd say, "No." And, of course, there's lots more to track in an industrial nation than simply rail traffic.

Given that it wasn't until 1942 (or 1941) the Holocaust began in earnest with the condition of Total war allowing for the possibility of death on a vast scale, not only of Jews but Poles, Russians and others. It's not a controversial opinion to reach.

Tucker doesn't deny the Haulocaust but he doesn't accept the mythology of allied victory.

Ok, so it would not be possible to say the mass murder of Jews was the reason for the cards. Not sure why Tucker's ideas were so off?

No, IBM did not design these punch card readers, explicitely for the Nazies
to track people in boxcars, headed for extermination camps.

But as the book points out, IBM knew about the Nazies using this
technology to control its rail freight cars, and by that time, the horrendous
and abusive characteristics of the Nai government had been learned, by the
world.

The book makes a case that IBM was morally-ethically irresponsible, in
selling this technology in Nazi Germany.

They probably greased the train wheels also, so I suppose you might include oil companies. (lumber companies, steel industry, glass industry, communications, banking, rubber, gravel, etc)
Now when we see something like Canada and the USA directly and purposely supplying military aid to Israel for it's aggression against women and children and a specific population well, then we can say it is evil and that they are morally and ethically responsible in a direct way.

So, Tucker Carlson had an interview with a certain, Darryl Cooper, who is supposedly a 'historian.' Does anyone know where Darryl Cooper received his PhD in history?

Joseph Goebbels had a PHD. Hitler's doctor and others had a PHD. Is that a criteria we need to look for to believe people?

Yes, it is one of several criteria that I think should be considered. However, you're misreading my intention here, because my aim is to undercut Darryl Cooper, and thereby Tucker's interaction with him.

Me too, but not as a positive

Is there something the guy said you can show us here that was false?

Well, as with anything, having "more information" and how it's used also depends on the moral and ethical framework that supposed "know it all" is operating from. Some people thought Paul the Apostle was a know it all, too.

Yes, the obvious: The Holocaust Happened and, what's more, there was a strong impetus for it to happen, and so it was an act of evil that was unfortunately planned for and which came out of a Culturally Relativistic mindset from the Nazi party who thought they didn't have to give moral account to anyone else.

You are saying the guest is a denier. Evidence that he is? For example, in the interview, did he deny it?

I didn't say he was a denier. From the initial, cursory info I have from the OP, it sounds like he's a revisionist, of the form who makes it sound like the Nazis (or Hitler) didn't really mean for the Holocaust to come about.

Do you think Cooper was intending to say something different than what my quick summary captures of his view?
