  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I’m voting for Trump because he’s a white man.

Do you realise just expressing that opinion might get you jailed in the UK these days?
That statement would not get you sent to jail. It might make you lose all your friends and job, though.

You make it sound as if it’s wrong to vote for someone based on sex and skin color.
What made you come to that conclusion? That person was just expressing an opinion, same as you did.

You have every right to vote for whomever you want, based on whatever criteria you wish to use. If some other person doesn't agree with your criteria, or even if they object to it for some reason, that's not your problem, is it?

For example, if you think convicted felons are better at leading a nation, feel free to vote for as many convicted felons as you like. Your vote, your call.

-- A2SG, you don't even have to justify your reasoning, if you don't want to....

Nothing wrong whatsoever, freedom of expression and choice

I think the candidates policies and working record would do America much more justice

I will take a conservative black man over a liberal white man every day of the week

Ben Carson v Gavin Newsom, the black guy has my vote

You forgot to mention a convicted felon by a pre-planned biased kangaroo court in Manhattan New York, smiles

No, I didn't.

Just like the jurisdiction of a black men being on trial in Birmingham Alabama in 1830 by an all white jury played no part in the outcome of "Felony Convictions"

Big Smiles!

Same applies to a conservative political candidate for president in a liberal kangaroo courtroom in Manhattan New York

I have no idea what you're on about. Your response had nothing to do with anything I said, let alone anything to do with the OP topic.

I am white, and when it comes to dating it does matter. I also don't talk to anyone except my future husband in the way the Democrats want us to talk to everyone. Trump is a good example of a strong leader. At least it's not sugar coated cackle face

Guys, skin color does not matter.
Certainly not to the good people on this website but a lot of the impetus that ensconced Mr Trump (a man who 30 years ago would never have had the slightest chance of getting into office) was fuelled by a black man being a vastly popular two time POTUS.

A lot of folks who don’t post here were furious. Some literally vowed to block or undo anything he did in office, if you can imagine such a spiteful thing.

Wrong, there is a select group of discriminating actions that are protected housing, employment. Etc, not all as you suggest
That doesn't contradict what I said.
If a black man chooses to give black people a ride in his car and not whites there isn't any law against his prejudice and discrimination
None. You can choose your friends as you see fit. But if he is driving a cab, then there's a problem.

This is really not difficult to understand. I can help you with it if you like.

And in several European countries it would be illegal and quite possibly cause charges.
(because it violates the law that to to discriminate based on race is unlawful).
I'm quite confident you're stretching the truth here. But if you can, prove me wrong. Show us why it would be illegal in any European country to say that you're going to vote somebody because they are white.

It's turned out to be bait to see how many people don't get it.
I watched a few man-on-the-street videos yesterday where the interviewer asked Harris supporters what things she has done, or what policies of hers they support, etc. None could answer. But some said they were voting for her because she’s a black woman. So if that’s okay, then it should be okay for me to vote for Trump because he’s a white man.

Here is the real question: What if Donald Trump was black, and Kamala was white? Would some conservative folks still vote for a black Trump over a white Kamala, or would some Trump supporters "defect to the other side" to vote for a white version of Kamala? Conversely, would a Democrat vote for a black version of Donald Trump simply because he is black? This stuff is genuinely confusing to me.

I wish we could live in a world where there was no mention of skin color. As a brown man himself, raised by two white parents (I was adopted from Europe), I do not really think of my skin color, cos it just seems normal.
