My wife and I have travelled to many places and we always take note of what the Australian Government says in regard to safety. But now we are being warned that going back to where we were brought up is to be considered dangerous.

What is wrong with the world? In what alternative universe could I ever imagine that I'd be warned about going back to, what in some senses, we call home? Or at least, used to be home. Not in Palestine or the Lebanon or Venezuela or Myanmar, but the United Kingdom.

And the fact that Nigeria, Malaysia and Indonesia, places where they've often been a concern regarding safety, have also issued their own travel alerts for the UK is...depressing.

False reports after a knife murder of some children stated that an illegal muslim immigrant did it. The actual perpetrator was a man born in wales whose family immigrated from africa. People are still out for blood against muslims, trying to burn down their homes and roaming the streets under the guise of "demonstrations" and "taking back their country".

At the same time, parts of the muslim population of the UK is also doing a bit of roaming around with machetes and molotov cocktails, but those aren't as reported as the far right mobs. The footage is shared online by far right people, though, further stoking their aggression.

Basically, you have two minorities trying to fight a civil war against each other while the police is trying its best to keep the peace. And since fighting people who are armed is scary, they mostly target easier targets that happen to look like the other minority.

At this point, I'd suggest the UK choose a city they don't really need and declare it as the official battleground for those two groups of blockheads to fight it out. I nominate Swindon.

There is a clash of cultures going on due to the mass migration. A lot of it is driven by the Muslim/Islam religion ... this religion believes one either converts to their religious beliefs or they are to be eliminated .... this will never change. Their intent is not to assimilate into a countries established culture but rather subvert the countries to THEIR culture. Right now this is what is driving most of the violence in the world (not all). ... but this is what is going on in the UK right now. With people rising up against this their governments they are blaming it on established UK residents (calling them extreme right wing) rather than understanding/facing the true facts about the matter.

Because Muslim/islamics will never change ... quite honestly ... countries should ban their entry ... but in a lot of countries this is perceived as being racial discrimination ... no ... you can't live peacefully with a group of people that want to force their religious beliefs on that country and are willing to do that through violence and/or death. This is a fact ... and governments need to wake up to this fact. They ... in fact ... will NOT "live and let live" and that's the truth about the matter.

I'm certainly only getting an alarmist take, as I haven't looked up any British sources yet, but from the few clips I've seen on local news, it looks absolutely crazy. Maybe I'm naive, but I was under the impression that the UK was in a somewhat better position than we in the States are with regard to dealing with their far-right problem (seeing as how it doesn't seem to have taken over their conservative party to the degree that the far-right have the GOP here in the USA). I am now reconsidering that assumption in a big way, sadly. Another user has already taken to preaching in this thread, so I hope this won't be considered to be in that same vein, but my prayers are with the everyday people of the UK, who certainly don't want or need this kind of thing. Would that we could simply airlift all the dangerously neo-fascist elements of our respective countries onto some island somewhere and have them duke it out amongst themselves!

The Uk IS a country that has always been formed by mass migration. It has been ongoing since the Bronze Age. The issue is to do with the hijacking of event, online rumours and xenophobia of a certain vocal small group. Think of them as the ones that pull the strings of those far less able to pause and think. Add in a news system that happily shares about the rioting and then does not give the same space to share the news of communities acting to support each other then yes it is not great. TBH there was far greater risks to visitors during the Troubles in the UK. I hope that the EDL achieves its seeming aim of being classed as a terrorist organisation as it is making neo-Nazism look liberal.

So can someone tell me in a nutshell what's the thing that's caused all this rising up of protest in the UK? Do the protestors have unified goal....what are they trying to accomplish?

A Welsh young man killed three children with a knife. Many people on the internet began to post deliberate falsehoods that were then uncritically reposted by people didn't do the most remedial fact checking. Specifically the murders where done by an asylum seeker who was on a terrorist watch list who was ignored because of his browness.

The the EDL a band of right wing thugs started rioting. Protesting against brown and black people and Muslims. Various thrill seekers and opportunistic criminal started looting. Libraries, hotels and religious buildings were attacked, burned and ruined.

As a fellow Englishman I wholeheartedly agree. These right wing thugs are the scum of the Earth. I work in Liverpool and lived in Plymouth for nearly 15 years. One of my best friends (a Rozzer) was in full riot gear. Plymouth is 90% white for goodness sake.

When we say that Islam will dominate the world, we mean as a political system, as the messenger Muhammad (saw) prophesised that the authority on earth will belong to the Muslims, i.e. the believers will be in power and the Sharee’ah of Islam will be implemented in every corner of the earth
