Pro-Palestinian protesters, University of Minnesota reach agreement to end encampment

“We were in late-night negotiations with the administration into the evening. And we received an amazing email, basically stating that five out of six of our demands would be met,” said Fae Hodges, a member of Students for a Democratic Society.

On Monday, Northwestern University in Illinois and student organizers announced an agreement to curb protest activity in return for the reestablishment of an advisory committee on university investments and other commitments.

At Brown University in Rhode Island, administrators agreed on Wednesday to consider a vote to divest from Israel in October — apparently the first U.S. college to agree to such a demand.

Occidental College & protesters sign pact: Camp ends, and college will vote on divesting from Israel

Occidental’s Board of Trustees has agreed to hold a vote on pro-Palestinian protesters’ calls to divest from Israel, bringing the encampment on the Los Angeles campus to an end after nine days.

Students for Justice in Palestine’s divestment proposal requires the college to investigate and disclose any investments in Boeing Co., Elbit Systems, Caterpillar Inc., and Lockheed Martin — manufacturing companies that have provided arms and equipment to the Israeli military.

The Board of Trustees will consider the divestment proposal and vote on a recommendation by its internal investment committee by June 6, according to the agreement.

More feckless youth, getting their jollies and virtue-signalling by having their demands met.

Suggesting "the Jews" bear collective guilt for something is quite obviously antisemitic.
Speaking of collective guilt. (And Columbia)

Conservative judges say they will boycott Columbia University students

13 judges nominated by President Donald Trump said the university has become “ground zero for the explosion of student disruptions, anti-semitism, and hatred for diverse viewpoints on campuses across the Nation.”

“As judges who hire law clerks every year to serve in the federal judiciary, we have lost confidence in Columbia as an institution of higher education,” the judges wrote.

“Judges do get to choose their law clerks, but they hold that power in trust and must exercise it fairly and based on merit,” [NYU Law judicial ethics expert] Gillers said in a statement. “The judges here, however, abuse their power when they punish Columbia graduates not for what they did but for where they went to school. This is a form of collective guilt that American law has always rejected.”

[Two of the 13 judges,] Ho and Branch had previously announced boycotts of clerks from Yale Law School and Stanford Law School because of “cancel culture” and free speech concerns. Ho’s chambers confirmed in a statement to The Washington Post that his boycotts of students from those schools remains in effect.

Sounds like the Columbia law grads are dodging a bullet.

Totally agree. I wonder how many of those kids are going to divest themselves of riding on airplanes or eating food that was harvested using Caterpillar products or driving on roads built using Caterpillar equipment.

I noticed the college didn't say they WOULD divest from anything they found. The kids should. ust divest themselves from the schools if they are really serious. Just more foolishness from the foolishness and feckless youth.

They are being hypocrites. And they are feckless, getting thier jollies and virtue-signalling to boot.
They’re also affecting change, so, there’s that.
Okay so it’s change that you might not agree with, but it’s there, just the same.

They played the game and got what they wanted and will melt away in a week and it’ll be back to business at the endowment managing office.

Hail to the heroes.

Maybe the campus heroes who dissent in the US, will help their Hamas sponsor: Iran quell dissent in Iran.

Hmmmmm, very interesting.......
"The First Amendment protects you and saying whatever it is you have to say. Even hateful things are protected by the First Amendment," Ohio AG Dave Yost told Fox News Digital this week. "The First Amendment, though, was always designed to be a shield against the government. It's not a sword against your fellow students and they have rights too. Your First Amendment rights are limited by their right to be able to go to school, use the library, get the value of their education and the tuition that they paid for."

In a letter sent on Monday, Yost warned university presidents of a historic state law that could mean masked anti-Israel demonstrators on college campuses could face felony charges.

"The law is an old law," Yost told Fox News Digital. "It goes back to the 20th century, and it was originally designed to make sure that people like Ku Klux Klan were held accountable, that, of course, the reason that the Ku Klux Klan wore hoods and masks over their faces is so that they couldn't be identified because they were committing crimes. So the General Assembly in Ohio said, okay, you can wear a mask, you can wear a hood, that's fine. But if you commit a crime with two or more other people, while you are masking yourself, we're going to see that as a heightened kind of crime, a worse kind of thing, because you're consciously doing this and trying to hide your identity because you know you're doing something wrong."

They aren't affecting any change. Except to get graduation cancelled for some kids.

It would be hilarious to see these masked people.charged under this. How ironic that a bunch of leftists would be charged like KKK members!

Here is some "Pro-IRAN &Hamas" support coming from : Joe Biden.

Its explained accurately by Senator Graham...

This unhinged rant was neither accurate nor an explanation - just a one sided assertion of prejudices.

Meanwhile the Israeli tanks are massing to go in and kill as many innocent people they think they can get away with. It's remarkable how much of a grip the good guys vs bad guys idea has a hold on people when the evidence is clear that both Israel and Hamas are bad guys. Israel is bent on killing all Palestinians in Gaza as Netanyahu's reference to Amalek etc. makes clear.

Israel, which is my home, is surrounded, (encircled) by Islamic Religious Fanatics, (the hyper religious muslims) (not all Muslims) whose stated purpose is to eliminate all Jews.
The Iranian Constitution states the same thing.

So, last OCT 7, a proxy of Iran, killed 1400 Jews.

They then ran back to their underground positions, that are near or literally underneath churches, hospitals, schools, stores.. And that is also the location of their Rocket Launchers that have fired thousands upon thousands of Rockets toward Israel, since 2006.
That is when Hamas, a terrorist organization, became the elected Government of the people in Gaza.

it is not known, how many innocent Gazans have been killed because of the Hamas Rocket Launchers that were destroyed since last OCT 2023, that were located in the most densely populated areas of Gaza.

Currently, there are 3, or possibly 4 more Hamas Battalions , which is between 600 -1000 soldiers (each)., located in Rafah.. and they have sequestered themselves into the population, so that the innocent palestianians will be killed.

These Satanic Butchers (Hamas) will not come out and fight like men. They will not "face to face" the IDF.
They hide behind civilians because they are hyper religious cowards.
They will instead HIDE themselves behind their civilian human shields so that people like you can support them more on a Christian forum, as you just did, and im sure you will do again @Vanellus

Hamas has already relocated most of its fighters from Rafah to Khan Yunis and other parts of Gaza, where the IDF has already withdrawn. The IDF going into Rafah isn't going to bring them any closer to defeating Hamas; what it will do, however, is further cement the widespread hatred of Israel in the Arab world for at least another generation.

Hamas has known about Israel's plans to enter Rafah for several weeks now. Do you really believe they have been sitting in Rafah all this time waiting to be attacked by a far superior force? Since Hamas continues to operate in and control other territory in Gaza wouldn't it make better sense to relocate the fighters that were once in Rafah to those locations?
