Why don't Christians practice what they preach?

Herschel Walker committed the same sins at least three times. So we know he did not repent and feels no guilt about doing any of them. He clearly is the kind of person who would do all of them again while Raphael Warnock is helping women and children from his seat in the U.S. Senate.
Lol. He openly supports abortion.

LOL He openly supports abortion.

He openly supports treating others as he would want them to treat him. He openly supports loving his neighbors as himself. He openly supports helping widows, orphans, and everyone else.

He openly opposes adultery. He openly opposes murder, which every educated America knows strictly means the unlawful killing of a BORN human being according to the U.S. Constitution.

Can you say that about his most recent opponent? Obviously not.

He supports abortion. That’s what you hate about Walker. That would be hypocrisy.

I was extremely clear in my OP Herschel Walker committed adultery and raped girlfriends while married, then paid some for abortions and abandoned his own children. Raphael Warnock, on the other hand, does everything he can to support helping all the people who need help the most in addition to loving his neighbors, family, and enemies. He practices his Christian faith every single day. He never supported murder his entire life. He never supported abandoning children his entire life. He never supported paying women to have abortions his entire life. He never supported raping women his entire life. What he does support (and always will for the rest of his life) is minimizing the abortion rate every year.by giving many pregnant Americans everything they need to solve all of the problems that are making them necessary.

If I am a hypocrite, it is in another way, not on this topic.

One big reason many people decide to stop being Christians is they only witness Christians acting badly, showing off a lot of hate and disrespect despite believing God is love and the commandment, "Love your neighbor as yourself," that came straight out of the Lord's mouth. These people are right sometimes, like when talking about Christians voting for someone who was known to rape girlfriends while married, paid them to have abortions, and abandoned his own kids, instead of a sexually moral pastor who would do whatever it takes to help girls and women not need or be paid to get abortions. While a lot of Christians in Georgia were voting for the sexually immoral candidate, Christians nationwide said sex education should never be taught in schools. Not just LGBT sexuality, but also all contraception, which obviously would prevent hundreds of thousands of abortions every year, and sexual anatomy. So instead of following through on their verbal condemnation of abortion, they endorsed it on Election Day. And it is true that many Christians get abortions despite knowing it is a sin. The same is true for many other Christian issues and I will address them later. I am starting with this one because it is the most obvious and hypocritical example of Christians not practicing what they preach.
People do not stop being Christians. The vast majority of people who claim to be Christians are not. Christian is what we are. We can't stop it, however, we can cease to be active and live like unbelievers.

Don't make the mistake of accusing all Christians of acting badly. People may have a lot of problems when they are first saved. It can take time to be set free. Christians are human as well as partakers of the divine nature. That's why the apostles exhorted believers to live in a manner worthy of being saved. You do yourself no favours by sitting in judgement on God's people. You are also going to be leveling false accusations at the many Christians who do live righteous and holy lives.

When you start judging others, God will start judging you. You want God's mercy, not His judgement. Unless, of course, you are perfect in every way and never make a mistake.

So longtime members of Christian churches who meet all of the criteria to be a Christian are fake Christians?

It absolutely is true that people stop being Christians. The complaints I am posting come from people who say they used to be Christians and are proud to now be atheists. I also know a Jehovah's witness who once said she used to be a Catholic.

I was not trying to be the judge here on who is and who is not a Christian. My complaint is people stop being Christians because all they ever see and hear is Christians acting badly. It is crucial that all Christians act like one: loving their neighbors and enemies, treating all others as they would want to be treated, being kind to everybody, helping women and children (not just widows and orphans), and giving everything to the poor. Jesus accused people of not giving him food, clothes, and a lot more when he needed them, saying whenever other people need those things, he does too.

Don't blame me for other people's complaints.

I am asking why Christians don't follow through on their own philosophical and moral ideals that are 100% Biblical.

You're not endorsing those sins actually. If you're talking about Herschel Walker, his political campaign was against abortion. Christians can't go back in time and change the past, they can only try to shape the future. Why would a Christian who is trying to go against abortion vote for the opponent who is pro choice instead of Herschel Walker who is pro life, if they are trying to minimize future abortions?

If you want to be more precise, about 4% of regular church attenders are born again. Billy Graham was quoted as saying that he would be delighted if 4% of those who "made a decision" were in fact born again. The figure applies only to the Western world. The percentage is much higher when people are persecuted.

God has only two judgements initially. Are you spiritually alive or spiritually dead? Those who are born again are alive. Those who are not, whatever their religious pedigree, are not. Many will say, "Lord, Lord, didn't we.........." Those who are born again base their lives on what Jesus has done for them, not on what they've supposedly done for Him.

Someone once said that if you are without sin, you can throw stones. It is fine to call out an individual's behaviour, if they have been confronted in private and refuse to repent.

Anyone can say that they are or were Christian. God puts people into Christ and only He can take them out again. Eternal life is just that, eternal. If someone loves to sin and refuses correction, I say that they are not born again, no matter what they may say. Intellectual acceptance of facts is not salvation.

Herschel Walker actually said during the debate I watched he is pro-choice.

Ok now I'm confused. I heard his political stance was pro life.

So did a debate moderator, who asked him if he supports exceptions for rape, incest, and to save the mother's life. His answer: "I am pro-choice."

Well there's a lot of people that don't practice what they preach to one measure or another. That's no excuse from turning away from Jesus because some of his followers fail.

I think political voting is not the bed example since politicians are far from perfect and voters only have limited choices. One can be a good human and decide to vote for someone who mine might be controversial simply because they agree with their policy positions. This is the reality with the democratic process.

Po9litics is a perfect example. Abortion has always been a political issue. Now, so is the right to be be who and what you are. after centuries of bans on homosexual weddings. There are many anti-choice Christians having abortions and Christian homosexual couples. Do they all vote for Democrats to keep their rights or Republicans because of their religious beli4fs?

I am sure you know it goes far beyond sexual issues too. People who vote for Republicans because of their religious beliefs support the hypocrisy of voting for people who are immoral in a variety of ways and don't care about the Golden Rule or Second Commandment.

If you vote for someone who has a history of spousal abuse and actually attempted to run over his wife, is a slum lord and has questionable financial dealings any better?

Are those that voted for him practicing what they preach?

The issue is that at some point our own words come back to haunt us. There is no perfect candidate. Everyone of them has flaws. The pure - do they line up with scripture rule would not allow us to vote for any of them.

if you think it is OK to sin as long as you repent your sin
Repentance means to QUIT sinning. It is believed that all people are sinners and fall short of God's standard of perfection. However, it is also believed that through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as the savior, an individual can be forgiven and reconciled to God. This belief is based on the teachings of Jesus in the Bible, which say that God is merciful and loving, and that he desires to forgive and restore those who turn to him in repentance.
