• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Idk how much more i can deal with concerning my parents. My dad called me a crack head and compared me to one because i chose to change his diaper and clothes before feeding him ( which didnt take long btw)

Im really stressed bc i have a 3 chapter exam... But my kids are sick and need me. I feel im sinking into a depression bc im still in the same clothes for 2 days in a row.. idk what to do.

I want so badly to withdraw from classes but im doing well so far. Two As and a B but i feel school is coming at the cost of my sanity. I also need the refund

I know it'll mean a better life for kids and I .. But its still hard.

I planned to leave after this semester or earlier if i bomb my classes.

Idk i guess my question is how do you take difficulty in stride?

No. Its pretty hard with 2 kids and no vehicle really.
If you have a preferred church, someone might be willing to give you a ride.

Definitely find a church with helps ministries. They will help in many ways. First, they will make sure you are getting all the government help that is due to you. We pay taxes so that you will be helped. Next, they will likely have people who will help drive you to places you need to go, including church. They will help with your children, food, clothes, cleaning your house, and many other things. Just a matter of finding the right church. There are many people who, if they just got a little help, it would make all the difference for them. If you have a social services representative, they may know of such churches who will help you. There are families who may adopt your family and help. Let them!
Don't give up. Reach out!

If you are doing well in your classes and your kids' basic needs are met, I'd try to stick with it, at least through this semester.

I've been a single mother and dropped out of college, and I have regretted it so much. Once you drop, you can't change that.

Let me encourage you to stay in school. I hope you are in a tech school or trade school. In SC the DOE and State will pay the vast majority of your tuition and being a single mother, you would probably get a free ride and even books. I went to a tech college at the age of 42 and within 2 years of graduating I tripled my pay. By the time I retired I was a Systems Engineer making 80 grand a year and a decent retirement. I am only telling you this to encourage you. As I said in my previous post, find and join a church that cares about its people. Sometimes all it takes is a little help to make a big difference.

I'm praying that your children get well, you are able to get some time to study, and that the Lord will help you pass your exams. I also pray that your childcare opens back up. I pray that the Lord will carry you and your children through this time.

If you are going to an accredited school in the USA, they almost all receive PELL grants from the DOE. If the school has a financial aid department, ask them. You will most certainly qualify for everything they got.

Taking care of you children is primary, an staying close to the Lord Jesus is essential for blessing and His care. I hope you can continue after your schooling for a good livelihood. Ask the Lord for His help; and I hope you know the Lord Jesus as not only your Savior for Heaven, but now for dailly needs. I advise Christians to make the Lord Jesus your 'best Friend' ---and be walking and talking with him all day.

As to your need for a new life, keep praying to the Lord Jesus for guidance and help --He cares for all, and especially those who put Him first in their heart all day.
I suggest you get some counsel about your life from a reliable source --check with a community service organization there, which can guide you to a number of resources; and I wonder if you might find a home study course for technical or skilled training, as there are a number of Tech Schools for specialized courses that often pay more than some with University degrees.
Your situation at home seems to be a hindrance, and some counseling might help you find a way to deal with that.
Well, write me anytime at Conversation page herein if you wish to chat about your life, friend. I don't know all things, but am a retired social service and family counselor. --1watchman
