So NOW.....after being shown that the Catholic church placed the book of James in the Bible.......it is now an inspired book!!!!

As I said...........the Bible itself declares in 1 Tim. 3:16..."ALL Scripture is inspired by God".

Is the book of James in the Bible?????

Yes.

Is it then Inspired?

Yes.

End of class!
Nonsense. I never said that the book of James is not the divinely inspired word of God. Perhaps you should drink a glass of warm milk, take a nap, give your mind some rest, and then go back and read what I wrote again with a refreshed mind.

Nonsense. That verse does not state that the book of James is "Scripture". The verse does not even mention the book of James at all.

Friend, the word of God is not limited to the Bible. If you will kindly read your Bible you will discover that.

You do not accept the Bible as a source of truth at all, friend. That is why you believe that "By faith only a man is justified, and not by works," which is the exact opposite of what the Bible clearly states: "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."

Nonsense. I never said these things.

The Bible condemns traditions of men that clearly contradict the word of God, such as "By faith only a man is justified, and not by works," which is the exact opposite of what the Bible clearly states: "Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only."

YES it is.

What you are proposing is referred to in theological circles as "Partial Inspiration Theory".

If that is the case. Who makes the call? Each person would end up making their own Bible to fit their own desires. In doing so, you would be switching roles with God. There would be no ultimate source of authority.

It could be YOU or the POPE or FRED or JANE who decides what it inspired and what is not. Making a distinction between those areas which can be known by humans and those which cannot be known does not help us either. Basically, it is saying that in areas in which we can investigate, such as historical events, the Bible may be in error. In other words, the event did not happen the way the Bible says that it did.

That lead to people such as yourself questioning the inspiration of the book of James based on what Luther commented on 500 years ago.

For example.....you and I can not agree on infant baptism and Since people cannot agree upon which parts of Scripture to trust and which parts not to trust, this theory is meaningless.

"ALL Scripture is Inspired by God".

The same Greek word "ALL" in 1 Tim. 3:16 is the very same Greek word in Romans 3:23...."ALL" have sinned!"

It is just not as hard as you are trying to make this.

Nonsense. Partial Inspiration Theory holds that some parts are not authoritative or God-breathed. I reject that. I hold that all parts of Sacred Scripture are authoritative and God-breathed.

YES you did my friend. You questioned its inspiration which is a backdoor attempt to argue that Works are need to be saved which Luther argued argued in the Reformation.

So to stand against the reformation of the Protestant church you use the back door of questioning the inspiration of the book the Catholic church uses to argue works for salvation when that is not what James was saying at all.

Nonsense. That is a flat-out-incorrect. I never questioned whether the book of James is the inspired word of God. And you cannot quote any statement on these forums where I stated that the book of James is not the inspired word of God.

IF ALL parts of Scritpture are inspired as you suggest and I AGREE, then why do you accept teachings that are NOT FOUND in those Scriptures.

The sinless conception of Mary.
The assumption of Mary.
The Rosary.
Bowing down in veneration to men.

Now.....do not misunderstand what I am saying. I do not care what you believe or worship.

It is that you say you believe the Scriptures but practice those things NOT found in them.

Galatians 1:8..........
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed.

Does that Inspired Scripture mean anything to you???????????

Why do you accept that "the book of James is the inspired word of God" when the Bible does not contain any verse that teaches this?

And there is NO Scripture that says Mary was Assumed to heaven.

There is NO Scripture that says Mary was conceived sinless.

There is NO Scripture that says Mary has anything to do with the salvation of men.

So then.....what is your point?

Other wise tit is just your opinion?!

Deut. 4:2 supports my comments..........
Do not add to or subtract from these commands I am giving you. Just obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you.

You believe things that are not found within the Bible, and so do I. So the point is that you cannot criticize me for believing things that are not found within the Bible, when you also believe things that are not found within the Bible. You believe in "tradition." You just simply refuse to admit it.

You said in Post #601..........

"For example, you correctly believe that the book of James is the inspired word of God, but you cannot produce a verse from the Bible that teaches that James is the inspired word of God."

Now I do not know where you live, but in the south, when a man says ............
"but you cannot produce a verse from the Bible that teaches that James is the inspired word of God."

Now then the Word of God it self says in 1 Tim. 3:16.........
"ALL Scripture is the INSPIRED Word of God", and JAmes is in the Word of God-----the conversation is over.

He is in fact saying clearly...........The book of James is not inspired.!!!!!!!

Why do YOU think you know what I believe????

I believe that planes fly and that is not in the Bible.
I believe that cars go forward and backwards and that is not in the Bible.
I believe computers work and I am talking to you on one and that is not in the Bible.
I believe in baseball and that is not in the Bible.
I believe in TV's and that is not in the Bible.

Name please name ONE tradition of a spiritual nature that you think I believe in which is a Church doctrine!

And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret . . . (Luke 5)

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was Go
d. (John 1)

And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4)

And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of me but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. (1 Thess. 2)

I don't care what it means "to a man in the South". I NEVER stated that the book of James is not the inspired word of God. Let me make this real simple so that even a man from the South such as yourself can understand:

I believe that:
1) The book of James is the inspired word of God; and
2) You cannot produce a verse from the Bible that teaches that James is the inspired word of God.

Yes you did!
Got caught and the story changes!

You changed your opinion when you were reminded that it was in fact the RCC who included the book of James in the canon.

Are the words that our Lord Jesus spoke, before the first book of the New Testament was ever written, the word of God?

Are the things that the Apostles taught, before the book of the New Testament was ever written, the word of God?
