  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please give me an example where I have used the Bible as a science textbook.

Do you consider this as one such example:
You are using the Bible as an arbiter of scientific claims, just as one might use a science textbook.

I mean any evidence for your statement that God missed something.
According to creationists, God flooded the world somewhere around 4500-5000 years ago. There is no evidence that ever happened. Ergo, he missed flooding the entire surface of the world.

Creationists are not God, though.

There is considerable evidence from various fields of inquiry. For instance, the persistence of ancient civilizations through the purported date of the flood.

No, but it is their claims we are discussing.
True, but we should remember that and not to exchange words "God" and "creationists" and "bible".

Or else nobody will understand anybody.

Creationists are not God, though.
True, but they claim that the Bible is the "literal and inerrant" word of God. Their claim is that if it is written in the Bible, it is the "literal and inerrant" record of history. According to creationists, God said in the Bible that it flooded the world during Noah's lifetime. There is no evidence that ever happened. Ergo, God missed pretty much every spot on Earth with it's flood.

Maybe He cleaned up after Himself?

Remember Adam?

Did God leave a scar behind on Adam, when He removed one of his ribs?

Actually, the word means "side" not just a rib.

Its a pretty dangerous operation to cut a man in half. Have you checked Adam afterwards, if there was a scar? :)

Including Israel?
No; why? The Kingdom of Israel was established sometime in the Iron Age, well after the purported date of the Flood.
