It looked like panic to me. The guy should definitely not have been carrying a gun. On top of that it looked like their were other officers standing right behind her doing nothing.

Try going into a US military base with that attitude with a gun. I work at a federal facility. We once had an idiot tell one of our police officers that he was a rent-a-cop and threatened him. Our officers are FEDERAL police and he was brought up on FEDERAL charges.

She was unarmed...there were police beside her who could have pulled her down or held her and the handful of protesters back from the doors. She held no knife or crowbar or anything...she was climbing up and barely gets her feet under her when she gets shot.

The protesters cleared out when the police and security guards reacted to the shooting. The protesters are heard saying it was a flash-bang. They didn't know it was gunfire.

Even in the middle of a breach of the capitol? I'm not sure harsh language was going to work, and resources were a wee bit slim to escort her down the station and book her. I haven't watched the video. It's tragic, but in that situation any of the protestors could have been shot, and I'm surprised more weren't. I think the capitol police used remarkable restraint overall. Unfortunately, restraint is only as good as the weakest link in this case. And when facing a mob, the mob is as dangerous as it's STRONGEST link.

. Mr Floyd was murdered in cold blood by a police officer after he’d done “his job” and arrested and cuffed Mr Floyd. That has nothing to do with this

Federal police are no different than the rest of us. You only shoot an unarmed person out of fear. If you are that easily shaken you should not handle a firearm.
