The only reason why someone would dislike the fact that salvation is easy is because they are prideful. Think about this. Whenever you do something that isn't easy, don't you become prideful? It was not easy for me to do my first job interview. But after I was done I was proud about the fact that I managed to do it anyway. I was prideful because I did something that was not easy. But that's not salvation. Salvation is the easiest thing in the world. You don't get saved by accomplishing anything (let alone something that isn't easy), you get saved by receiving a free gift that is freely given to everyone. The only way to get saved is by believing in Jesus, not by believing in yourself. That's why it's impossible for prideful people to get saved.

Whenever someone dislikes the term "easy believism", that is a sign that you are dealing with a prideful person. The more prideful you are, the more you hate easy believism. The prideful person delights in the fact that they earned their salvation by their own efforts, and hates the idea that salvation could be easy. The prideful person gives glory to himself rather than giving glory to God.

But the truly humble person loves it. He loves the fact that salvation is so easy and so simple. They don't mind the fact that they can't take any glory out of their own salvation, but that God takes all the glory.
Welcome! I believe money is the driving factor for the complicated Gospel.
Be blessed.
Edit: We can also add power and greed.

I'm sorry to say it, but yes it is. The only crack in that historic position taken by the RCC might be the more recent idea that has been given support by several Popes, that the faith part isn't always necessary, just the works. That has gained a lot of acceptance by American Catholics although it's not been made an official doctrine.

I live in a catholic country, I can confirm this. Many believe they can get to heaven without having faith. And when you ask how do you know you are going to heaven, they answer... "Because im a good guy".

To my mind, "easy believism" requires only a mental acceptance of a set of facts.

Well, no, that's not what it means. Believing means trusting. If you just believe that Jesus exists and the gospel exists, that's not the same thing as believing in Jesus as your personal savior (trusting Jesus). Those are two very different things.

Here's a good illustration that I have heard some people use. Imagine that you get on an airplane. Then you decide to have faith in the pilot; that the pilot will land the plane safely. But is that just "mental acceptance of facts"? Not at all. There could be another person on the plane who accepts the fact that the pilot exists, but he might be panicking and worrying that the pilot will crash the plane. Or he might even be a crazy suicidal person who doesn't care what the pilot is doing. That would be a person who has "mental knowledge" about the pilot, but doesn't have faith in the pilot. Can you see the difference?

People dont understand the meaning of the law, and how guilty that make us hell. There two steps for salvation, admit that you are sinner and believe in the lord Jesus Christ for your salvation. They dont dont finish the first step. The law is like a snake that pretends to give life but it only bites you. Our lord bruise the power of the Snake on the cross. Sin no longer has the power of death. We need to believe in Christ alone for that sting of death not to poison us with sin. If you believe you need works you are under law and you gave power to that curse.
Are you under the law of Christ?

Exactly so! And for this reason, I credit the church with having brought that situation about--

Because there is no way for a thinking Catholic to know exactly how to translate the teaching of their church into their own lives--what good deeds are exactly, or how many are needed, or how different acts of charity rank, or does it all start over again after confession, or whether religious devotions count equally with acts of mercy etc...

they put it out of their minds and just hope that being churchgoers and generally nice people is good enough.

What happens when the new believer is challenged?

For many years, I experienced and believed Christianity had no real down side. It was a happy, easy and rewarding life, everyone should jump at.

I use to teach “we (Christians) all sin lots of times and cannot keep from it, but we are constantly being washed by the blood of Christ, so we are without sin in that case.” That was before I met a group of Christians that risked death for themselves and others by sinning, just any sign of not doing what Christ would be doing in that moment. Here is what happened:

I got thrown into (volunteering if needed) with the youth (13-21 age) prisoners program teaching Bible (one hour on Sunday morning to a group of 14 with three other Christians teaching groups of 14) and I was teaching three groups of “Christians”. The first group were guys (going to school it is called) that start out causing trouble and getting thrown in the tank. Then they start increasingly attending the Bible services, carrying their Bible, being nice, eventually being baptized and saying they are Christian. By the time the parole board meets they have this glowing report showing continued improvement tied to their increased spirituality and are released and they were fun to teach. These guys still carry weapons, are members of a gang, and every prisoner knows they just “went to school” to get out. The second group were converted before they went to prison (grandma conversions), but on the first day they are watching raunchy TV, hanging with a loss group, laughing at off colored jokes, were not always talking about Jesus and were not trying to convert others. Their first day in prison the snitches see this, the snitches talk to the Bulls that approach these “Christians” saying you are not a Christian (doing everything Christ would do) and make them a slave (often sexual) or at best a gang member. They still come to Bible study on Sunday, good students, so they can tell Granny (who visits them Sunday afternoon) what they learned, but they are slaves (sometimes sexually) to some bull. The third group is fanatical, they stick close to each other, they: study, pray, witness to everyone, and avoid even a hint of insincerity that the snitches could see. They carry no weapons, but step between those that are being beaten especially persecuted. This group had grown over the last 3 years from just a couple of guys to now 42, but it came at a high price. Each convert had on the day he was baptized given up the protection of his gang membership, turned over his weapons along with all his possessions (the gang owns everything including them), they were beaten if not by the gang they left, then by other gangs looking for payback and then they were watched constantly looking for any sign the snitches might interpret as weakness (anything less than what Christ would do in the situation, would result in a beating and it could be to death). There is absolutely no privacy and these Christians never wanted to be found alone. They slept in barracks where at least one stayed awake all night praying over the others, so they could sleep without the fear of being smashed in the head in the middle of the night. These guys believed and counted on power from the Holy Spirit, I did not know existed. They come battered and bruised each week hungry for some real meaningful Christ like lesson that goes beyond their group study of 40+hours that week on the same subject, which I could not provide. They mostly helped me with my poor example of Christianity and lack of knowledge and lack of wisdom. They mentored me even though they were only Christian for a few months, but I was a poor disciple and could not keep up with them.

I already answer that question, if you can not see that then you should ask that to yourself.
It's a yes or no question. You have stated neither.

That's cool, but you can't expect anyone to take you seriously if you can't even give a yes or no answer to a question.

The salvation that lead us to heaven can be in many levels, from the lowest (saved christian) to the highest.
It is based on what soul (energy) you have. If you have better (more strong) energy you become better level of salvation.
It is all works based, don't listen to anyone who tells you, that you not need to deserve it and to not doing anything to gain it.
Just trust yourself, because your soul knows the answer: salvation is based on works.
Think with clear mind, don't be influenced by the human's saying... They will fail at their statements at some point, and everybody do.
Only thing that will not fail is salvation based on works in all his levels of better energy (better salvation levels).
There is saved christians, saints, angels and all kind of levels of salvation. Don't trust anything else, or don't put your heresy here.

I avoid your red herring giving the wright context to the answer. Go with your ill intent to someone else.

No, they dislike it because it is not the biblical truth.

That's a different spin on trying to push that false doctrine, but not as tricky as many I've heard.

You wrote that the law is a snake. I asked you whether you are under the law of Christ. There is no red herring at all. It's not like I asked you about today's football game.

As for the "ill intent" of my question - what do you think is my "ill intent"?

But that's fine. If you don't actually want to discuss what you believe in a straightforward manner by stating "yes" or "no" to a yes or no question, that is cool by me. Have a nice day.

The problem with this is that there are very few, if any, modern Christians who go around saying or thinking that "I have earned my salvation by my own efforts".

The notion of this "I have earned my salvation by my own efforts" Christian is a bit of a Boogeyman that many Christians love to rail against. They rail against it because it allows them to affirm themselves as spiritually superior to these Boogeymen.

What these Christians do not realize is that when they do this, they are often exhibiting the very pride that they denounce. The Christian rails against this Boogeyman and often tries to paint other Christians as attempting to earn their own salvation, in contrast to themselves, who like the greatest of and purest of saints, "put all my trust in the Lord for my salvation".

Agree.

"By our on efforts" is just a tactic to make those who choose to do the will of God feel guilty, and such tactics are not of God, but of the devil.

Just trust yourself, because your soul knows the answer: salvation is based on works.

If you fall and realize you can't be trusted, and feel you're undone and Satan whispers you can't be forgiven, and you discover you were wrong and the Lord shows mercy - hold on, you're in for the best ride of your life!!

The law of Christ has no venom or any sting of death, you are confusing things or using a red herring. This why I put the context for that answer. If you can not read context then no wonder you are not rightly dividing the word of God.

1 Corinthians 15 "55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law."

Genesis 3 "14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."

2 questions to all who tout easy believism as the way.

1)Can you get to heaven by not being/doing good?

2)Also, must we have works to prove our faith, or is just claiming we have faith all we need in order to get to heaven?

1) Luke 18:19
“And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.”

2)Galatians 3
"11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

12 And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

15 Brethren, I speak after the manner of men; Though it be but a man's covenant, yet if it be confirmed, no man disannulleth, or addeth thereto.

16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect.

18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.

20 Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one.

21 Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.

22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe.

23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.

24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

Thank you for the supposed "context". I am very pleased to have it.

Now, are you going to answer the question, or not?

Are you under the law of Christ? Yes, or No?

It is a very simple question to answer my friend. In fact, I will show you how easy it is to answer it:

I, Swag365, do hereby on September 20, 2020, declare that "Yes," I am under the law of Christ.

Is it really that difficult for you to state that you are under the law of Christ? Why?

And why do you have to add all types of "context" before answering a very simple question?

For your information, after confirming that you do consider yourself to be under the law of Christ (as I expect your answer to the question to be "Yes") I was hoping to discuss how you understand the law of Christ. You seem to have some notion that it synonymous with "loving your neighbor," and "putting all of one's faith in Jesus" and that is perfectly fine. But before having that discussion I simply wanted to confirm whether or not you consider yourself under the law of Christ. I don't see why answering that simple question with a yes or no should be so difficult to do.
