I am telling you that you don't need to know any of these things as long as you have Jesus. What is it to me that I know every word in the Bible, I have an IQ of 200, I'm a billionaire, I can build anything I want when I don't have Jesus. Did the early Christians know how to perform the surgery? No. Does everyone know how to count? No. Do I need to know the exact date when Jesus was born? No.

Everything I need in life was given to me by God. If I need to in my life to know science, if it to any use I will know science.

When you need medical treatment and there is no doctor, you need to know some things.

My point of the questions was not literal besides you read a translation, not the orignial languages of the Bible. I pointed out that Scripture is "profitable for..." It does not claim to have all the knowledge we need to live --- like how to cook pork long enough.

God warned of all the pandemics, epidemics, plagues, wars, earthquakes etc etc. Does God really need to name every single disease that will happen? Does God need to give location and date of every Earthquake? He just says it will happen, and the number and intensity will keep increasing.

Pandemic, epidemic, endemic might be all different in size, but they send the same message: Repent!

Friend, my point is simple if God was sending any of those as a punishment he sends a prophet to warn people. Since, God has not to our knowledge sent prophets to every nation affected, I do not think it is God's judgement, etc.,

My point of giving the definitions is God never in the Bible warned people of a pandemic in the past. One can call the events of Rev to be such. But, we are not in that time frame as of yet.

And, I am not wasting time on speculations of end times.

I think everyone should record their reports to see if they come true or not. A false prophet must bat 1,0000 without one strike out. That way we can identify who is who.

Also, ask the question to include worldwide stopping of the virus .
That being said, you have your answer. No one has that batting average.
Be blessed and stay healthy!

Kenneth Copeland said a heatwave would destroy the virus by Easter. It's on youtube from the horse's mouth. God Bless :)

Someone also posted a link on here showing him blowing "the breath of God" on the virus and claiming that it wouldn't be back.

Obviously knowing Jesus is the most important thing, but your post seems to imply that when we know, and have, Jesus in our lives, God will also reveal anything else we need to know - science, other languages, how to build things and so on.
That's not true at all.
Everyone needs to go to school and learn things. And I think that if you went for a job interview and were asked "do you know how to ...... ?" and you replied, "no, but I know Jesus and he'll reveal it to me if he wants me to know it", it would most likely result in your not getting the job.

The Bible reveals everything we need to know about God, salvation and God's will for us. But it is not the job of the Holy Spirit to teach us Greek, Spanish or other languages, or reveal to us how to perform surgery, wire a house or whatever.
He has given us the abilities to discover, learn, and teach, those things.

Yes. We should also ask them why they never prophesied this virus, and we should also ask modern healers to lay their hands on those who have contracted he virus and heal them.

I have heard people speaking in tongues and read about people who give/gave prophesies which have come to pass.
I don't claim to have the gift of a word of knowledge, but I have sometimes said something which was just what that person needed to hear, or been prompted to send a card to someone at the exact time that they needed to receive it.

The Holy Spirit is still at work today - what reason is there to think that he has withdrawn his gifts?

You've more likely heard people speak in gibberish - not a known non-native language which a tongue is.

Sounds to me like you might have the gift of exhortation.

Yes, the Holy Spirit is still at work today.

I've given my reasons for why prophecy (foretelling the future) has ceased - read 1 Cor 13 - "the perfect has come" - the Bible - God's revelation to man is complete. No more revelation is being imparted through prophecy. What do you believe "the perfect has come" means? What do you think "the partial" means? 1 Corinthians 13:9-10

If someone could genuinely heal, it would be all over the news. Where are all these "healers" during this COVID 19 period? Even in the Apostle's day, the gift of healing seems to have dissipated. Sign gifts were only temporary. 2 Timothy 4:20

Many in here seem to think that a prophet can conjure up a word on COVID-19 whenever they please. No, instead the Holy Spirit has to want to reveal it. If it is not the Holy Spirit, it is the flesh or demonic. We have already seen that with the "peace and safety" crowd of prophets of whom some have already said this would end quickly. (the first targeted last March). While there is an end, the end may be conditional, based on our response and repentance. If this is the case, then I would guess God will be mum on the ending date. As to whether this pandemic lacked a warning, we already have that. We are warned about all our sin in the bible. If most refuse the word of God, why would He bother to send a prophet to warn about the pandemic?

God's revelation was complete when the last book of the New Testament was written. There are no "modern prophets." 1 Corinthians 13:8
not so....if the Holy Spirit is in us He is still manifesting His powers through gifts and prophesy.
The Bible does not say the Holy Spirit ceases to speak through His vessels....

So why not do something that would actually make it clear that we need to repent like those angels with flaming swords cutting people down ?

Instead of people dying and suffering for reasons we can show to be perfectly natural ?
Scripture says that Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy....it is sin...the curse of sin and death that opened the door for Satan to cause sickness and disease through a spirit of infirmity....remember the woman with an issue of blood who touched Jesus hem of His garment? Scripture says she had a spirit of infirmity....
When Job was inflicted with leprosy, it was Satan who struck him with it...God told Satan you can do anything to him except take his life.

V.8 states that prophecy, tongues WILL cease - not - HAS ceased. Moreover, it states knowledge WILL be done away with. Obviously, knowledge has not yet been done away with, thus prophecy cannot have been done away with either.
it says prophesy will fail...tongues will cease.....but in context of the whole verse it was compared to Charity/Love....Love never fails...prophesy will fail because churches prohibit it...tongues will cease because churches prohibit it....knowledge will be done away with because churches have become carnal minded and cannot comprehend the things of God.

I would be more concerned about the omission of warning and preparation for God’s people. If they’re working for Him; why were they silent?

It has been claimed that David Wilkerson prophesied the plague in 1987...I can't claim it's validity but I have listened to a video with him talking about it.

Since pandemics happen sooner or later just saying there will be one is perfectly meaningless.

I can make a prophecy that there will be more earthquakes, wars and famine with people feeling sad and dying.

Then you can dig up this thread whenever something like that happens as a proof of my prophetic abilities.

How do people fall for these cons ?

Any prophecy ask for details then check how many prophecies the whatever prophet has given.

If he or she has prophecied just about everything and something happens that can be loosely be fit to some parts of some particular prophecy they get no brownie points.

Just like preachers have claimed for centuries this is the year that Jesus will return, huh....still waiting.
