The translation of the four letter, Hebrew name of God, 'YHWH', into a six letter, English name such as 'Yahweh' or 'Jehovah', is probably not an accurate translation. Is it Jehovah or Yahweh(Revealed to Moses in the burning bush) Why is the name of God replaced with LORD? I have read about that before but this is prior to the encounter of Moses and YHWH in Exodus. In Judea it was "Yah" while in the Northern Kingdom it was "El".
In fact, no one can ever really know the Father except through Jesus Christ.Three times in John 17 Jesus mentions receiving the Fathers name. John commonly used the words power and authority and chose not to. As Jesus was given the name above EVERY name, I go with what John said because there is no other name above His.

I have found this very interesting:
Where did Iesous and Iesus come from? In Bux and Schone, Worterbuch der Antike, under “Jesus”, we read, “JESUS: really named Jehoshua. Iesous (Greek), Iesus (Latin) is adapted from the Greek,, possibly from the name of a Greek healing goddess Ieso (Iaso).” Like all authoritative sources, this dictionary admits to the real true name of Yahushúa: Jehoshua (more precisely: Yahushúa). It then states, as most others, that the commonly known substitute, non-original, non-real name “Jesus” was adapted from the Greek. Come Out of Her My People, C J Koster.
The usual translation of Adoni is 'Lord'.
