I normally like reading the rules and adding myself to every subforum area I wish to talk in, but I really don't know where this thread is put, so I will just respond to this now.
Please let me know in here where I should check in to become a part of this area? And if this isn't allowed that I made such a post like this, then please correct me on this.
I wanted to respond to this thread as I just had this on my mind earlier today, especially I wondered about how we would look like in heaven, when getting our new bodies.
When the Father looks at us He will see His Son Jesus Christ. It is said that He and His Son looks very alike, same way I believe it was with the first Adam too. His resemblance must have looked very much like God, having been the first human made and then also made in His image.
Then if you look at families, most of the time you will see a similiarity between a father and a son, or a mother and a daughter, among brothers, among sisters, as well as throughout the family line whether far or near. Isn't it special how God made it so? That families have an resemblance to each other, same way as He and His Son has this too?
We will be known and recogniced in heaven, how we will be seen up there we don't know, yet I find this part of the bible interesting:
Isaiah 65:17-25
The Glorious New Creation
“For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth;
And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create;
For behold, I create Jerusalem
as a rejoicing,
And her people a joy.
I will rejoice in Jerusalem,
And joy in My people;
The voice of weeping shall no longer be heard in her,
Nor the voice of crying.
“No more shall an infant from there
live but a few days,
Nor an old man who has not fulfilled his days;
For the child shall die one hundred years old,
But the sinner
being one hundred years old shall be accursed.
They shall build houses and inhabit
them;
They shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit.
They shall not build and another inhabit;
They shall not plant and another eat;
For as the days of a tree,
so shall bethe days of My people,
And My elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.
They shall not labor in vain,
Nor bring forth children for trouble;
For they
shall be the descendants of the blessed of the Lord,
And their offspring with them.
“It shall come to pass
That before they call, I will answer;
And while they are still speaking, I will hear.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together,
The lion shall eat straw like the ox,
And dust
shall be the serpent’s food.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,”
Says the Lord.
Isaiah 11:6-9
“The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.
Especially the last parts indicates there will also be small children and infants in heaven.
Also this part of the bible came to mind:
Matthew 17:1-3
"After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus".
Here it is clear Jesus's disciples recognized Moses and Elijah. Even though some may indicate this was before Jesus Christ got ressurected, and thus Moses and Elijah was still down in hades or sheol? Waiting for the final moment of Jesus Christ's Victory, where He also would overcome death!? Or they might have been all of this time together with God. They did appear in a way which made them well recognizable.
What will be the most important for us, is being together with our God and Saviour! How we will look and what age appearance we will be having, will not be as important to us. As all of our focus and devotion is to be set on only Him!
