  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Immigrants take over California.

they control the political process by sheer number of liberal voters.
And influencing the political process by voting is simply not the American way!

They are voting for an illegal policy, the so-called "sanctuary" city or state. See the op link.
We also voted to legalize the possession and sale of marijuana despite it being a federal crime.

You conservatives always like to go on about "State's rights" so, here we are exercising those rights.

Pure "democracy" (voting) is often 'mob rule', which seems to be the case in California. Lynch mobs are very democratic, however they are not lawful.

who said anything about pure democracy?????
citizens (and i do stress the word citizens here who have every right you do whether you like it or not) go to vote on their representatives who then represent their constituents at city hall, congress, etc...
if you are complaining that there isn't enough opposite side representation in california due to demographics skewing more liberal then any measures you want to take must also apply to all those solid red states in the south.

I agree, if I were complaining.

In California we are not there yet but, true we are close to that point.

In some areas of San Diego when you go into a store checkout and speak English they look at you as if you're speaking a foreign language thus they prefer Spanish.

The Liberals really don't care it's their agenda and they seem to be giving the country away.

M-Bob
There does seem to be a movement in our country by the liberals to give our country away or take it down. Truly sad! :sigh:

This thread is about immigrants, not high wage-earner contributors to GOP candidates.
How many do you think the US should accept? Everybody accuses people of being hateful if they don't want open borders but could the US take 2 billion people in without any problems? If you put a number on the immigrants we should take in you are labeled hateful and xenophobic. So we're either going to be called names or have 2 billion more people.

What makes you think that many people even want to live in the US?

Good point. I don't know. The question is....how many do you think the US should accept? ....It's an answer you can't win. If you say open the borders what is your plan to care for them? If you respond with a number you are xenophobic.

I can't say exactly what number it should be but I don't have any problem with having limits. My problem is only when those limits target specific groups of people because they look or sound different from what some think an American should be. I don't think it's xenophobic or racist to have reasonable limits on how many people we take in.

If we had open borders our country would be completely overrun within 2 to 3 years. There would no longer be a United States of America.

I've never suggested we should open our borders.

California AG: 'We will prosecute' employers who violate sanctuary laws

This is what happens when a state has so many immigrants that they control the political process by sheer number of liberal voters. This warning was sounded years ago in my home state by a Latino school board president who stated publically that in a few years the minority community would get everything it wanted through the vote, as their population would become so great that local politics would be controlled by them and their sympathizers. That day has arrived in California.
Most liberal voters I know are white in CA. They vote for their rights. because Republicans try to take them away. The seem to want to keep women barefoot and pregnant. Force us to be Conservative Christians. I'm confused , I would think Illegal Immigrates from Mexico. Would fit your ideal ways. They're are religious and they work hard and they value family.

Maybe minorities shouldn't get a full vote. Y'know, maybe vote should be divided between two or three minorities. Y'know so they only really get 1/3 of a vote.
