  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Oh I know so little! I was wondering of the Assyrian Church of the East and it's separation following the Council of Ephesus in 431, or the Oriental Church split following the Council of Chalcedon in 451. For that matter I wonder also of the Photian Schism 863-867.

I note the view of Anglicanism is expressed in the post, a little more research on this subject may bring a more informed opinion on the subject.

It may be of little interest that I have studied some Church History, and indeed my Post Graduate Degree included an Early Church History component.

Try binding someone's sin instead of forgiving them and see what happens
YOU don't have the authority to bind anybody's sin.
Jesus gave this power to the leaders of His Church (John 20:21-23) - not to every individual..

I wouldn't
Period

And none of them would have either

They would have clearly understood what "shake the dust off their feet"

AND MOVE ON
meant

Here's something you should do

Find somewhere where one of CHRIST's disciples bound anyone's sin

And before you point to Paul casting the man out if fellowship so that Satan could destroy the flesh read what Paul's true inner hope was for that man

You could also review Peter asking Jesus if HE wanted them to rain fire down from heaven on those who had not accepted CHRIST to understand JESUS'' rebuke

Not by power
Or by might
Sayeth THE LORD
but by HIS SPIRIT

That is if you truly know of whose SPIRIT you truly are of

GOD gave Eve the title mother of all living (both male and female offspring) so no one could skirt over the truth that the seed of natural man was tainted and all the children born of eve would be brought forth of perishable seed
And YOU said that titles were bad.
Now you're changing your tune, i see . . .

I have no issue with that because that is her role . . .
We are so glad that you have no issue with Mary telling HIS DISCIPLES to listen to HIM

However, you do know that today GOD speaks to us by HIS SON

Correct?

Yes to everyone of your questions

As to losing or binding... Yes that too. But I wouldn't bind anyone and anyone who died doesn't know of whose SPIRIY they truly are of
YOU don't have the Authority to bind sins.
YOU don't have the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven.
YOU don't have Jesus' guarantee the the Holy Spirit will guide YOU to all Truth.
Where does the Bible say these things??

Ah. Eve received that title because she had sinned

As to other titles I said nothing either way regarding titles. You went on a rampant about titles

I don't care one way or another what one wishes to call themselves

They are manmade titles declared by men

Show me a title JESUS gave to any man other than to Peters confession as being what CHRIST would build HIS CHURCH on

You see Petras knew he was just a living stone

He never declared himself as THE CAPSTONE

Because there only is ONE CAPSTONE and that is CHRIST

WHO said that Peter was the "Capstone"??
Peter is the ROCK upon which the Church is built (Matt. 16:18).

Jesus called Peter "Kepha", which means "ROCK" in Aramaic.
Why do you think Paul refers to Peter as "Cephas" in his letters?? Cephas is the Greek transliteration of the Aramaic "Kepha".

I speak by the authority of GOD

When one is called to gather it isn't men who make their plea...it is GOD

THAT WITNESS in us who testifies to the TRUTH and calls men to be reconciled to GOD in HIS SON
It's a ministry of reconciliation

No one has the authority to uproot anything. Because no one has a part in harvesting what they with dimsighted eyes can't truly see

Tares may appear to be tares today

But with someone watering and CHRIST tilling the soil of the heart what might have been a tare today may very well be wheat tomorrow

Nope
No one has the right to bind anything or anyone

We entered into a ministry of reconciliation

If you can't do that...move on

Do not avenge, do not uproot, do not live by the sword

Those who live by the sword will die by the sword

Yet those destined for the sword ARE destined for the sword

So I guess all things are under HIS SOVEREIGN control

There will always be violent men of the covenant who do not truly know of whose SPIRIT they claim themselves to be of

In the end, by what we do, we will make manifest if we simply did lip service to HIS NAME or truly knew HIM

God speaks to us by our neighbor as well (Matt. 25:34-45).

Do your homework . . .
Peter is a stone

Just as those who have their feet on THE FOUNDATION and are being built up as a royal priesthood ((IN HIS BODY)) are identified as "living stones"
(By Peter himself!)

Peter does not have the final say

Peter is not THE ROCK cut out from the mountain not by human hands

Christ is

And CHRIST will lay the FOUNDATION and His hands shall complete it

Not Peters

So now your neighbor has the authority?

GOD gave us of HIS SPIRIT that we may j he and discern the TRUTH for it is THE SPIRIT of TRUTH who leads us to all TRUTH

If your neighbor speaks a lie then they do not speak by GOD

WRONG.
the ministry of Reconciliation was given to the LEADERS of the Church (John 20:21-23).

Are ALL Apostles? Are ALL prophets? Are ALL teachers? Do ALL work miracles? (1 Cor. 12:29).

Paul speaks of this ministry as being exclusive to the leaders. He makes no small case for this ministry of reconciliation clearly in 2 Cor. 5:18-20:

“And all this is from God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ and given US the ministry of reconciliation, namely, God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting their trespasses against them and entrusting to US the message of reconciliation. So we are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through US. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

In 2 Cor. 2:10, he states, “Whomever you forgive anything, so do I. For indeed what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for you in the presence of Christ.

The Greek word used here for "presence" is "Prosopone" (person).
He claims that he forgives sin in the PERSON of Christ. In Latin, this is translated as "In Persona Christi."

1 Corinthians 3 touches on Paul's directives to carnal men to not forget what IS the FOUNDATION and to be careful not to lay any other manmade material to THST FOUNDATION
