I don't actually watch Game of Thrones.
You guys are way beyond me at intellectual humor. I am still using "pull my finger".
He sure took after his mother.![]()
No, I haven't..... That's the one depicting Richard as having an affair with Philip II, right? I've thought about watching it, but that interposition of an affair into the story is really unnecessary, and is sheer supposition and unlikely given the history.Have you ever seen the movie, The Lion in Winter? I'm not sure I loved that portrayal of Richard but it was an interesting movie.

Oh, yeah, Lion in Winter and Becket both have excellent casting. Have to say, I wasn't all that impressed with O'Toole's depiction of Henry II, and the addition of Thomas' mistress in Becket. I should finish watching it, though.Yeah, I really didn't care for that addition either. That was not the picture I had of the LionheartI will say that the acting quality was pretty decent. I can't remember all the cast, but Peter O'Toole and Catherine Hepburn starred as Richard's parents.
So it's settled. We must slay Señor Drogo.
Remember the Alamo Matt...remember the Alamo
A preemptive strike against their Reconquista movement? I'm all in.
Don't worry, Tom. I didn't get any of the references in this thread either, lol. (well not until I cheated with google). I think my kingdom needs a palace scholar. I need someone to inform me and interpret for me. I'm likely to have plots and assassination threats fly right over my headI could see myself totally missing the point of coded threats and thinking, "oh, cool, my subjects love me." But then again, even Richard the Lionheart wasn't good at waching out for his pesky brother.
My dear, I think Hawthorne would make an excellent palace scholar. I was also thinking about naming Rhamiel as our palace priest.
I name you Combined Chief of Staff

I've never watched any of those. I think some movies can be ruined when they are historically inaccurate, however I have gotten excited watching a few movies that strongly hinted at history and historical legends that I had learned about previously. No one else watching the movie with me appreciated it the same. The downside of enjoying history means that Philippa Gregory, Assassin's Creed, Kingdom of Heaven, and many other movies are unenjoyable.![]()
AhahahahaFirst order of business: We have to take care of that pesky journalist from Slugline.
