CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

you may have it if you need to increase your post count. I started this thread partly to see how hard it was to do, and now I have more respect for those who post a large counting thread; unless they use a bot.

I noticed that this thread is on the most popular side-bar!
Never look at it much as it seems the sensational, violent, and confrontational stuff from the world is in it; mostly. This could be temptational; if one wanted to get on the most popular list; which I don't, except to maybe point up one of the problems of going for the most dramatic post of the day; like the news has went the last 40 years. Used to be you could watch the evening news, and expect to be informed about what was going on in the world-- but now I'm dating myself (aging myself). Maybe one should be able to op-out of being on the super sensational side-bar; it could be embarrassing for other more prolific counters!

On the other hand, it could be a means to finding a thread quickly, where i was defending the right for the Jewish people to not be told they should be exterminated, and the entire world it seems agrees that it's ok to say that, regardless of the history of them actually being "exterminated".....
sorry, but i find it sooo disturbing and scary that anything of the kind should ever be said.

Iwatched the news feed and you were posting on forums with text debating with other members (I do like what you post there-for whatever that is worth to you)
at the same time you were on a counting thread.
As it took me over 30 minutes to enter just 100 post; can I ask; how do you do it!?

Well then; frivolous threads like plain counting ones should be kept off the side bar. And for every good thread on there, there are 10 about the latest hate crime or other nasty news item.

Being a supporting member removes the 15-second wait between posts, and using the keypad, instead of the numbers across the top of my keyboard, helps considerably.
I don't even use the mouse.
I just hit a number - the TAB key - and enter.
Then I hit TAB again to place the cursor in the next box and start over.
NUMBER-TAB-ENTER-TAB; NUMBER-TAB-ENTER-TAB; NUMBER-TAB-ENTER-TAB...
I'll do about 40 numbers, then check and see if anyone has responded to anything I said, then do another 40 or 50, and so on.
