Does God really *punish* nations based on whether or not they follow Christian values?

I know, you want me to think it's important that your brain tell me I'm wrong. This is actually quite funny :)
You're right, this is a funny idea. Especially since it's a complete misinterpretation and non sequitur of what I said.

No one (or their brain) is conspiring against you, in case that wasn't clear.

Quite a God, killing 6 million so some could claim prophecy.
look at you blaming God for humans bringing death and destruction on themselves AND their neighbors. It is not His will that any man perish, but that all come to repentence

To clarify, how exactly do you define "prophecy?" Do you believe that a prophecy makes it happen, or is it just foreknowledge?

And which prophecy was this, exactly?

I don't blame someone I don't believe exists. I was merely commenting on your argument.

Sorry I don't remember where the prophecy is but it was written over 2000 yrs ago. and of course a prophecy is a foretelling of what is to come. Also God gave the land of Canaan to the Jews because it was time to judge the canaanites. there are many prophecies. I am just trying to provide examples of judge for nation, so don' lose the thread of thought over my pitiful attempts to help you understand the way things are

But I'm saying a lot of civilizations have been very successful without being Christian.
God is always engaged in His creation otherwise it would not continue to exist .
Even although people had not yet been collectively save by Jesus, because the time had not yet come, unless the society has broke His laws to an overwhelming degree He allows it to go on until the time does come in His plans to act .The cultures you speak of
were not yet 'saved' had not known Christ and until individuals or nations have known and been blessed by Him they are not held coupable of rejecting Him.For those who have been blessed by God and His gifts (the internet and all tcnology is of God 's plan)
who turn their back ,there is no hope . The US has taken everything God has to offer
and thrown it back in His face .He will withdraw His Light from many individual lives ,but will sustain those who go out in courage to be faithful to Him.
those who have been faithful and courageous

I'm not just talking about climate change; I mean in general -- if one sees God or the devil behind every misfortune, how likely are they to recognize the consequences of their own actions?
I think it seems to me as a non American ,that too many evangelicals blame the 'devil' for their own lack of engagement . Most sins are our own selfish indulgence .

Forgive me if that's not quite enough detail for me to agree with you.

Thank you for explaining.

No worries. We can abandon this idea. I was just trying to give you a chance to justify your opinion that the successful defeat of Hitler is a sign that God acts in this way, while Hitler's success is not.

I was just about to post something similar...

There are many countries in the world today (who were formerly religious/Christian) who have shifted to be largely secular who are in better shape now than they were when they were more religious. ...and I'm sure you can find instances where the inverse is true in some cases if you looked hard enough.

I don't think there's any evidence to support the assertion that allegiance to, or rejection of, any particular religion is tied to a string of inexplicable good or bad luck.
Well I live in one of those 'secular' countries and although people are not vociferous like Americans are ,the majority are not atheists;,but think that treating people the way you would like to be treated is in general a better philosophy .It reduces tensions and allows wisdom to grow .I think Americans are too extreme too rich, too poor .The rich who pretend to be Christian but pay buttons to employees ,or ruin the environment will pay the price, as the law of return is basic and the lazy mentally, or otherwise will too .

No, I never "interpret".

(2Pe 1:20) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

There is no gray area.
There is always interpretation in the absence of specifics. You simply assuming something is because it fits in with church dogma. There are grey area especial how religion should effect the lives of those who are not religious.

As far as "choice", I'm not sure what you mean. I preach the Gospel. I show those who have ears to hear scriptures, how vile an abomination it is before God. Sodomites who hear will make their own choice. Some will repent, some will continue in their concupiscence. I let you go your own way, but I would never knowingly allow you around my sons or family until you repented of such behavior. May Jesus have mercy on you to that.

(Rev 22:11) He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
meaningless vague descriptions that have a relevancy only to the poster doesn't add or detract from anything posted here. It is the same as throwing out that Hitler was raised Catholic, which is also irrelevant.

First of all, I am not gay and have never been that sexuality and why would I wish to be around your kids or your family. It really Gauls me how self religious people subscribe to the idea that they alone have a monopoly of civility and morality. People such as this live in a bubble universe where everything outside of it is designated according to ideals rather than reality and these same people wonder why the world has passed them by.

I can only say that I hope people such as this get taken into the world that they dream about if only to leave the rest of us in peace. I'm fairly sure both sides can truly say that at that time they found Heaven.

I was having cognitive dissonance about trying to look into, through or past the occult and things man has done to truth.

Can you verify this foreknowledge exists, with any credibility?
seems you are having cognitive dissonance about everything else.

I don't follow any Church dogma. I follow scriptures. And in them I have shown that the city full of sodomites (aka homosexuals) was destroyed because of their grievous abominable sins arising to God. That it was destroyed because there weren't even ten righteous there. And in fact, the angels that went there were going to be sexually molested by those disgusting people. So God delievered the righteous, and destroyed the city. You just need a Bible, and a repentant humble heart to let the Word of God Speak to you. Otherwise, a person will simply continue in their gross sin, and then die. To most people I would think, that is something to consider and proving out, rather than arguing against, just to please their unnatural lusts whilst thumbing their nose at scriptures.
