When I first read about Brittany Maynard on People.com I gasped. Brittany’s smile is beautiful and her life circumstance so tragic. At 29-years old Brittany has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and given months to live. She has moved to Oregon where assisted suicide is legal so she can end her life as she says “on her own terms.
Pray for Brittany Maynard. Her death is scheduled for November 1st...

Lord I pray for Brittany. I pray Lord that you will comfort her and speak to heart and show her that you are in control even though she is not. I pray Lord for those who advocate death for the weak and suffering and those who the world deems unfit.
Amen.:crossrc:

Just a reminder to please stay on topic as being Off Topic (OT) is a rule violation. You can find that rule listed within the Christian Forums Rules / Terms of Service

Edited to add that I went ahead and cleaned up the thread of all Off Topic (OT) posts. Took a LOT of the thread with the clean up.

So there's a lot of crazy stuff trending online this week. Lots of pain. Lots of suffering. I hope you'll forgive this slightly tangential but definitely related contribution to my 31 days series. One of the saddest things I've read is the story of beautiful Brittany Maynard. 29 years old. Newlywed. Terminal brain cancer.
Suicide is not dignified...

Tragic. :(

What a beautiful human being and her family are such wonderful supports for her.

I don't agree with assisted death from a Human Rights perspective and I think this shows that individual States have far too much power.

People should all have the right to die with dignity, but assisted death is taking it a step too far for me...

Lord, may she see that fighting death by keeping her life as long as she can is more "dignified" than ending a life consigned to death. May she see also that her suffering has salvific power, for her and the world, should she decide to unite her suffering to Jesus, who Himself chose to die ignobly.

And may the souls of the faithfully departed, in the mercy of God, rest in peace. AMEN. St. Maximilian Kolbe, pray for us, and for Ms. Manyard.

Continuing to pray for her. Please pray for her soul and salvation. What's the point of ending one's suffering on earth to end up in worse pain in Hell?
Also pray for the souls of people who agree and support this.
Lord have mercy.
Amen.:crossrc:

Tigg! I'm glad to see you posting! I missed you. :)

Agreeing with you in prayer.

Gee, you make me feel good! :) Also good to see you posting! Ummmm, to be on topic, I do believe it is up to each one of us about dying. I have a document stating my wishes and letting me go so I won't be a veggie. To each of us, our choice. May God lessen the pain of those in need and bless us all!

People should all have the right to die with dignity, but assisted death is taking it a step too far for me...

It could be argued Christ's crucifixion was assisted Death.

He could have walked away unharmed, instead, He made the conscious choice to die that day.
The Roman Garrison were merely the means that assisted Him in bringing His choice to pass.

And if He hadn't made that choice, we "would be of all men, most miserable."
