  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Absolutely not! That is what everyone is saying on the news now, but I don't trust the mainstream media.

Really? The mainstream media I'm seeing is saying the 'plane crashed into the Indian Ocean. Nothing about suicide.

The gov't controls them...

Which government?

...and well, I guess that would explain their sudden amnesia about the fact there were two on board from Iran who used stolen passports.

What relevance do you think that has to what happened?

I'm posting a link to what I saw tonight and the former General being talked about is going to be on Fox tonight. This man has never wavered in his statement about where the plane is.

Alerts

Many people can be unwaveringly wrong. I'm more inclined to believe the people who are actually involved in the search for the 'plane than some armchair ex-general who's got nothing to do with it. Still, if his Intelligence is reliable, why doesn't he point the Malaysian and Australian authorities in the right direction?

I believe that the passengers are probably no longer with us. Either the ascent up to 45,000 ft. killed them before they were able to get their oxygen masks on (or they could have run out of oxygen) or whatever country stole the plane would probably kill them rather than provide food and shelter to so many people.

Or they're 12,000 feet under the Indian Ocean. That also would do it.

Also, concerning pilot suicide, the two didn't request to fly together. I doubt if one planned a suicide, he'd be able to talk the other into it. He would have had to lock the other pilot out of the cockpit or overcome him physically, maybe even kill him.

Well, locking people out of plane cockpits isn't difficult - as has been pointed out in another thread, the problem is that, particularly post-9/11, they're almost too secure; even if the passengers and cabin crew had realised there was a problem on the 'plane, they probably wouldn't have been able to get into the cockpit to do anything about it.

But then I don't buy the suicide theory either.

But then I don't buy the suicide theory either.

Perhaps you don't have 24hr. news channels focused on this story. They've been covering it since it happened.

Let's see...first they thought there was a catastrophic malfunction in the cockpit and then they thought there might have been a fire from the tires burning since it was a hot night when they took off. Then they thought of a hijacking but since no one on board had a history of terrorism or extremism, they gave up that idea. And they quickly believed Pakistan that the plane never entered their airspace. Then they thought there was a crack somewhere in the body of the plane and everyone perished and the plane continued on autopilot until it ran out of fuel. And now they think it may have been pilot suicide. Every few days it's something else. As far as the satellite pictures, first China had one and no one could find that. Then Australia had a satellite picture and finally, France had a picture. I'm not sure, but it's sounding like the searchers have found numerous, over 100, small items that could be a part of the plane. But they keep warning that there are tons of trash from dump sites in the ocean.

I'd like to interject something here: Where are the tree huggers when you need them? They don't want a pipeline built though it would provide hundreds of jobs. They don't want crops grown in the San Joaquin Valley since the sprinklers get clogged with some little minnows. But I haven't heard a word about ships dumping their trash in the oceans, Monsanto's pesticides being sprayed on us (Oops! I forgot, they don't care about us. They care about the trees.) Why aren't they screaming from the housetops that Fukushima is killing all of the fish with radiation and that radiation has been found in the ground on the east coast? Anyway, I'm outraged when I see all of the trash in the ocean.

So back to the missing plane. The American gov't controls the American media, even Fox News though they like to appear to be independent.

I would be immediately suspicious of two men who are using stolen passports. And why their nationality is relevant to the idea of hijacking: I can't believe you would ask that question. Just shows how "politically correct" we've become in this world. I don't fly. I've had some rough rides and I don't like it. But if I got on a plane, it would have to be an emergency and if I saw Middle Eastern men on the flight I'd get off immediately. If I couldn't get off, I'd faint or have a heart attack. I'm sorry, but that is how I feel. My first thought when I heard there were two Iranians who had used stolen passports, was that the plane had been hijacked. I guess it is true that a few people can spoil things for the majority.

Well, it's not a retired general's place to give the Malaysians our intelligence. And I don't think that any country really would want to confront that kind of situation because to accuse an "ally" of stealing a plane and possibly killing all of the passengers would be a difficult thing. Wouldn't that be considered an act of war? I'm sure Malaysia wouldn't do anything and I doubt that Obama would do anything, even though there were Americans on board. Don't know about China.

Off topic but I'm watching Piers Morgan Live on CNN. I thought he got fired.

So who knows what happened to this plane? I can believe the co-pilot could do something before I'd believe that the Captain could. He was so into his job and even had his own flight simulator. But we should know about the files he deleted by Friday.

Does the American media control foreign medias as well? - because they are reporting the same news.

It's sad that a so-called Christian is filled with such paranoia.

You are entitled to your opinion.

Do you remember a flt attendant on one of the 9/11 flights that hit the WTC, Betty with an oriental last name, who called the airline from the plane and told them what was going on? I watched some of the missing plane coverage on Fox News last week and one of the guests was a leader of a flight attendant's organization and she said that the flight attendant cannot communicate with anyone on the ground, only with those in the cockpit. So that was a made-up story for the news media to spread.

The stories are being told to ALL of the media. It's up to the various countries to report what they choose to report. For example, I mentioned yesterday that Israel has closed all of it's embassies around the world, has anyone seen that reported anywhere in the news? I haven't and I've been watching Fox and CNN lately. They usually repeat their news and their programs throughout the day and evening. If I didn't have access to Israeli news online, I'd never know that and I think it is a significant story.

Did you notice the heavy coverage of Chris Christie's bridge scandal on the news channels other than Fox? Sometimes Fox does stand up to the liberals. It was way overblown.

I don't think that knowing the gov't is not always honest is being "paranoid". Does being a Christian mean that I have to swallow everything the gov't tries to feed us? I have a right to question. I'm not a door mat. I'm a child of the Living God and I'm led by the Holy Spirit. I doubt that God buys everything the gov't says either. What will you do when the antichrist appears? If your pastor believes he's a good guy and not the antichrist will that mean you have to accept what your pastor says, since you are a Christian? Other members of the gov't will try to convince you too. Would not believing your pastor or the gov't.make you "paranoid"?

If you're talking about my feelings about flying with Middle Eastern men on board, I'm responsible for myself and if I am hesitant to fly in the first place and if I become fearful about something, I will get off the plane. If I'm on a plane that is having problems I would certainly ask God for help. If I were on a plane that was being hijacked God has the power to rescue me but if I felt uncomfortable, why wouldn't I get off when I had the opportunity? I wouldn't jump off of a high-rise and trust that God will help me land safely.

Tell me something - do you know why the Israeli embassies are closed? Because I just found it after a very brief Google search. It's got nothing to do with the missing 'plane.

I think I've said it twice. It was "supposedly" due to a strike. Now, I also saw a picture which was supposed to be of the people on strike. It didn't look like there were many. Is it necessary to close the Israeli Embassies worldwide? To me, that would be paranoid. Isn't there an Israeli Embassy here in the U.S.? Is it closed and if so, why isn't that being reported or a strike going on at that Embassy? If it has been, it's probably a tiny blip on the second or third page of a newspaper. I don't read newspapers but I watch news channels all of the time and I haven't heard anything about it. As I said, I got it from Al Haaretz.

There could be other reasons besides a strike. It could be fear of the missing plane...or it could be seeing the U.S. stir up trouble in Kiev and then abandon them pretty much made them realize that they cannot trust the U.S. And that was in another article last week too. The Israelis are safe rather than sorry. They know how quickly Muslim countries can be stirred up. They are close to Syria and to Egypt which are in turmoil now. Israel is very, very smart and not terribly willing to tell their secrets. They can't hide the fact that they've closed the Embassies but they don't have to tell exactly why.

People on strike don't have to form a picket line. They can stay at home eating chips in front of the TV.

Let's suppose for a moment that the plane had been stolen with the intention of flying it into a building. How exactly would an aircraft that can no longer identify as a legitimate commercial flight overfly the whole of Australia to get to, say, the Israeli embassy in Canberra without being intercepted?

As ever, your hypotheses are ludicrous to explain the mundane.

It sure isn't any ordinary plane disappearance...it didn't simply follow it's flight path and crash anywhere. It changed direction, cut off communication and radar...then supposedly disappeared...assumed to have crashed in the ocean...you don't have to be paranoid to suspect something isn't right about this whole story. They say what they think happened...or most likely happened...what they think the public will accept based on logic they provide...but they have no evidence to present...just speculation about spotted debris that could be from anything. They have yet to pull anything from the ocean to confirm the plane crashed into it.

So pardon the speculation of those who do not sit back and take what they are told at face value. There is plenty of room with the current info being distributed to speculate that something else could have happened to that flight. As yet...the public has been given no conclusive evidence of anything.

I agree with Psalm 91...there is more to this scenario than we are being told. However, I don't believe the public will ever really know what happened unless they find the black box and I don't think they will. What will be left is speculation without evidence or facts to back up any notions one way or the other. This will be heartbreaking for those who have lost loved ones on that flight. Not knowing the fate of your loved one remains with you like a festering thorn you can't remove until you know for sure what happened...no matter how horrible that outcome may be. It is for those left behind that I pray for and hope will find some peace through this ordeal. It is for their sake I hope the fate of this flight is obtainable.

As far as the plane is concerned, Zanting, I don't think that we will be told the truth even if they find the black box.

Well, if a plane couldn't fly over as a legitimate commercial flight while air traffic controllers knew they were off their flight plan, why weren't the planes on 9/11 "intercepted"?

I think if the missing plane ended up in Australia period, that would be ludicrous. However, I think Israel has learned not to take anything for granted.

If my hypotheses are so ludicrous to explain the mundane, why bother reading them?

I've got information that I've posted here and you simply refuse to believe it. In fact other people here have talked about the international bankers who control everything. But you would call that ludicrous, right? I thought so. Most of the people who post here would say the same thing.

But there is a very big Christian and non-Christian world out there that knows that they make all of the decisions. George Bush called them "the deciders".

There is a woman named Karen Hudes who worked for the World Bank and is a whistle blower. She talks openly about the World Bank, the IMF and why countries are being stirred up politically. I think her website is kahudes.com, if you're interested. I'm sure that you have heard of the recent "suicides" of several lower level bankers. Anyway, I was puzzled as to why she is still alive and then I saw that she is everywhere. I guess if you're not going to leave the country, you have to speak loudly and openly and maybe no one thinks that she'll be believed. Many of her interviews are on YouTube. There is so much more information out there but no one cares to find anything out for themselves. They think life is just fine and then one day, everything will change and the people who claim to read their Bibles will realize that they should have paid a little more attention to prophecy.

You'll most likely ask for proof. Well, I've spent so many hours looking up so much. You are probably younger than I and if you care, you look it up. I'm tired of the people here demanding proof of something they refuse to believe anyway. And Christians seem to be the most skeptical of everything but the heretical pastors telling them of some new blending of all churches or some crazy idea that Jews have been replaced by Christians or that if they give to the church, God will reward them with even more.

This will be my last response to you unless you become a little less hostile toward me, okay?

Hi Psalm, we have talked.

Please don't waste your time her. Let them be. Go somewhere else where you can at least have a non-scoffing debate on issues that should be obvious to students of history and war.

I know I have said this before to you, but please don't waste your time, or resources.

This, I hope you don't mind me saying, is where I have real difficulty understanding where you're coming from. You express distrust for what you call the "mainstream media". But the same mainstream media that tells you Israel has closed its embassies, also tells you that the reason for those closures is a diplomats strike. For example, this story from Reuters:

Israel closes embassies around the world as diplomats strike | Reuters

...and you've got to admit, Reuters is about as mainstream as it gets.

But why is "mainstream media" a reliable source for telling you that the Israeli embassies have closed, but not reliable for telling you the reason for those closures?

Or, back to the main topic of this thread - why is "mainstream media" a reliable source for the information that Malaysian Airlines Flight 370 vanished, but not a reliable source for the information that the organisations searching for the 'plane have sighted pieces of debris in the Indian Ocean that they believe to be fragments of the missing plane? Logically, if "mainstream media" is as untrustworthy as you seem to think it is, you'd have to admit that you have no reason to believe that Flight 370 disappeared, because its disappearance was reported in "mainstream media". Indeed, logically, you have no reason to believe that Flight 370 ever existed in the first place. After all, who told you it existed? "Mainstream media."

Do you see the problem there?

Sure. But speculation that the 'plane was hijacked and is currently in Pakistan has absolutely zero evidence to support it. Whereas speculation that pieces of debris spotted in the area of the Indian Ocean towards which the 'plane was last known to be travelling might well be bits of the missing 'plane has a fair bit of evidence to support it.
