Another ruler who was not governed by irrational emotions would have stood on the edge of the water and refused to go another inch forward. Instead, he would have been astounded, and in great fear because of the unusual phenomena that was taking place before his eyes, would have refused to pursue.

In which case, God would've hardened his heart just as he did numerous times to Pharaoh, and forced him to pursue.

What's your point? We are here now to have our souls tested and refined while in human frailty, to see how our souls in eternity can be trusted with true power and glory. If we can not now be trusted in a little, we will not be able to be trusted with much.

If God indiscriminately gave everyone who believed their full rewards and power, Heaven would become like a place the was run by a billion Obama's. Incompetence is something God will not tolerate in his world.

Now on earth is a time reserved for when things can go wrong, as well as walking into prosperity. Now is the time for testing and proving who we are in our soul before the Lord. Some grow in wisdom and do find love. Others lose, and turn their need for love upon themselves. Sadly... self hatred is merely a disappointed narcissist.

I see this has been pointed out, but that "insane hatred" was God's work. He "hardened Pharaoh's heart" like five times.

That is why the need for hell in the first place. Souls that end up their would not have allowed for a moments peace in eternity, always finding reasons for attacking those who enjoy the peace of God...
God knows.. Hell has a purpose.

Nice try. No dice though. Hell has a purpose, but its purpose is not to protect the saved from the damned as you pretend; it's punishment by eternal torture, pure and simple. If God really just wanted to allow the saved to live in peace without interference then He could simply let the unsaved cease to exists after they die. Problem solved without the need for eternal torture.

So cling to your "loving" Gid if you wish, but don't pretend Hell is some sort of unavoidable necessity. If you think the unbelievers deserve eternal torture then that's your prerogative, but don't try to absolve your god by pretending it serves any purpose beyond punishment.

Only by the Lord presenting his infinitely superior power more than five times.


Pharaoh was a megalomaniac who fantasied himself a god. The more God rubbed it in Pharaoh's nose that he was helpless in the face of God, the more Pharaoh became calloused (hardened) in his heart.

God hardened Pharaoh's heart by making Pharaoh face the reality of God's superior power.. exposed in increments. Resulting that Pharaoh built up callous on his own heart, as a determined criminal would build up callous on his hands by greedily digging beneath a bank to get to the safe. The hardness came from Pharaoh's constantly resisting the truth... only to be going deeper and deeper into delusional ego mania.

To harden Pharaoh's heart, all God had to do was to present Himself in a display of power. Pharaoh did the rest.

It would be like me saying... I am going to make that dog bark. And, then releasing a squirrel outside the window where the dog sat. I did not hit any button in his brain and make the dog bark. The dog barked because of what I put before him.

Likewise, Pharaoh kept barking at the ten million pound squirrel God put before him. Any man in his right mind would have shut up and been very quiet in awe and fear. God was simply exposing the insanity that some men develop towards Him. And, that is why we have Hell for men. Men who harden their hearts do not know when they should shut up in fear and awe. To find the God who will stop fighting him once that man drops his insane hatred.

I don't see anything in there about the world being doomed -- only corrupt.

Corruption can last indefinitely -- look at Washington.
