Why do you claim that?

Originally the "Big Bang theory" is the name that antagonists to the theory used for it. It stuck. If the antagonists were still around, actually I am pretty sure they are all dead, it would be a bit of a slap in the face to hit them back with their own insult.

At least Intelligent Design can argue for both "intelligence" and "design;" whereas Big Bang was neither "big," nor a "bang."

Yet you guys treat "Intellignet Design" with contempt, while accepting "Big Bang."

Reminds me of the passages:

Matthew 23:24 Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Romans 2:15b ... and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;

Actually they can't. There are so many flaws in life because it did follow an evolutionary path that at best IDists can argue for Incompetent Design.

An intelligent designer would not have all of the errors that we see in life today.

Are scientists lying when they use the term Big Bang, when it is actually more of an isotropic expansion?

Scientists don't insist that one term has nothing to do with the other. They very honestly concede that the terms are interchangeable...
