Hello friends. Here is a thread where you can post anything at all that stands out to you or that you've enjoyed reading. For example, I'm in Romans at the moment and having a great time renewing my mind in the word of God! Who wants to share? Let me start by saying welcome to all and I hope you enjoy this thread.

OK let's get started:

Romans 8:38-39 "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

HALLELUJAH! I love this scripture - it touched me on so many levels. Feel free to comment or to post discussion here.

Enjoy!

Romans 8 is so very powerful. After Psalm 91 I probably am meditating here the most.

Rom 8:11 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

The Holy Spirit is giving me life to live on this earth and be effective in the kingdom of God. And not just a little dose of life. But LIFE EVERLASTING. And this life everlasting can reach out to others and bring life to them.

The Holy Spirit brings the word to our remembrance and this word is life. John 14:26; John 6:63 The Word of God is so rich.

The Holy Spirit is dwelling in us. This life within is waiting to burst out. Praise God. The Holy Spirit gives life as I listen to Him. Thank you Jesus.

Me too! Romans, Psalms and also Isaiah are my personal faves at the moment - I've just been going through highlighting all my favourite verses and so far I've highlighted nearly all of Romans! :D

I love your post - thanks so much for sharing! God bless you!

Have you ever felt abandoned by God?

Hi Hockey Fan

Am I correct in assuming you have been feeling as though God has abandoned you? Or are you asking a general question in the hope to provide answers for our readers. I'm not sure where to start with your answer but I do know that God would never leave, nor forsake, nor abandon you - ever! There are times where it 'feels' like we're being left on our own, to contend with whatever is going on in our lives, but this is just a feeling and not the truth. Satan would have you believe this lie because He wants you to get off track, that's all. Just continue with whatever you've been shown to do and then let God direct your steps, trusting that He is showing you how to handle whatever it is that you're going through. Does this help?

Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. "

Romans 12:3-8

Serve God with Spiritual Gifts

"For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; for ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."

Romans 12:19-21 "Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”says the Lord. Therefore

“If your enemy is hungry, feed him;
If he is thirsty, give him a drink;
For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Love this:

Vs 21 "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Proverbs goes on to say "And the Lord will reward you."

Proverbs 25:21-22 "If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat;
And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;
For so you will heap coals of fire on his head,
And the Lord will reward you."

Sickness really is a part of our body not operating right. For the Holy Spirit to give life to our body is to heal what is wrong with us. He raises us up from the sick bed with newness of life.

Romans 10:15 "And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

and

Vs 18 "But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed:
“Their sound has gone out to all the earth,
And their words to the ends of the world.”

Our words go out to the ends of the earth!

Psalm 19 1-4 "The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork.
Day unto day utters speech,
And night unto night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor language
Where their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth,
And their words to the end of the world."

Our words are going out to many many places here via the internet, so let's be very careful about what we say Amen!

and therefore:

Vs 14 "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart
Be acceptable in Your sight,
O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer."

Amen!

Life to your mortal bodies! Aint that the truth! For without Him we are nothing. It is in Him that we are made alive and that we can experience the fullness of our existance! What beautiful words they are, and what a lovely passage to share. Thankyou.

Rom 8:11 "But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you."

But if the Spirit

We have the Spirit at our new birth. And we have the baptism of the Spirit. But there needs to also be refreshing of the Spirit of God. It is not so much that the Spirit needs to be revived but we need to be revived with the Spirit of God.

The words Jesus spoke to us are spirit. John 6:63. And it is by the Word of God that we are revived.
Psalm 119:25, 40, 50, 107, 159,

It is the great peace that comes to us as we love the Word of God. Ps 119:165

Jesus was raised from the dead by the Spirit of God. Jesus who had all the sin of the whole world on Him was raised from the dead by the Spirit of God. It is this same power that will give life to us throuth the Spirit of God. Thank you Jesus for your spirit.

The Spirit of God dwells in me. I am the temple of God. Not that I am special but God is special to choose man to live with. Who am I to have this Spirit? Yet I have this same Spirit that raise up Jesus from the dead and He went to sit at the right hand of God the Father. And now He is making intercession for me to the Father as I speak the words of The Spirit of God spoken to me through the Bible.

Now I have this life but life is to be lieved and used not horded. If I try to hoard it disapates. If I give it grows within me.

The Holy Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. The glory of the Father raised Jesus from the dead. Romans 6:4 So the Holy Spirit took the Father's glory to raise Jesus from the dead. I see glory as light. The Holy Spirit took the Fathers bright light to raise Jesus from the dead. And what is the light? Ps 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. The word of God is the light of God. The Holy Spirit took the word of God to raise Jesus from the dead. And this same word of God will also raise us from the deadness of the flesh to walk in the newness of the spirit. Let the Word of God richly dwell within you.

Without Jesus being raised there is no hope of the gospel. And if we are not raised we are walking in the flesh and not the spirit. Where there is spirit there is life. What does the Spirit do? He reminds us of the Scripture. The words of Jesus are Spirit and they are Life. He who has hears to hear let him hear.

The Spirit dwells in me. I don't have to search for Him just quiet myself to listen. He will speak if I will stop speaking and obsessing, and staying busy to look important.

Why should we try to look important? We have the living God the creator of the heavens and the earth within us. We have more than the answer to our needs dwelling within. We have fullness of joy dwelling within.

The Spirit will also give life. Just as He did for Jesus He will do for me. It is the same word He will do. And greater works will we do because Jesus returns to the Father. What is Jesus doing with the Father? He is praying for us. John 14:14 If you ask Me anything in my name I will do it." If Jesus is assuring us that He will answer our prayers. Then won't He answer His own prayers that He is giving to the Father?

Yeah, in contrast to what you posted from Romans 8, I have felt separated from God and abandoned by God. I'm sure I'm not alone feeling like that.

Hello again HF,

Can you give me an example of when you might be feeling like this? Or does it feel like this for you all the time? I know that when we are at our lowest point, this is when the miracle or breakthrough can occur. Do not give up hope. I would recommend reading the scriptures as much as possible when you are feeling like this and allow the Holy Spirit to mentor you and comfort you through His word. This ALWAYS helps me out during times of stress or adversity, and I ALWAYS KNOW that the Lord is helping me deal with whatever it is He is trying to show me or help me with at the time. This is why we must CONSTANTLY renew our minds with the word of God so we can be prepared and strengthened for whatever is going on at the time. Sounds simple enough but it REALLY WORKS! God's word is POWERFUL and will bring down any of the strongholds that are keeping you from enjoying your walk with God... Hope this helps.

Isaiah 30:18 "Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you;
therefore He will rise up to show you compassion.
For the Lord is a God of justice.
Blessed are all who wait for Him!"

Yeah, in contrast to what you posted from Romans 8, I have felt separated from God and abandoned by God. I'm sure I'm not alone feeling like that.

There was a time when I felt seperated from God. I knew that it was impossible because His word says it is, but it didn't stop me from feeling that way. During that time I attended a ladies prayer meeting at my mom's church. The speaker talked about this very thing. One statement she made stuck with me, though then I did not understand what she was saying. She said "when you feel far from God it is then that He is so close that you can't even feel him." At this tears began to form in my eyes. How can one be so close that you can't even feel him? It made no sence to me.

Well, now looking back I can see what she meant. The lonlier I felt the more I clung to the promise that He was with me, the further away I felt the closer I pressed (in order that I might feel Him). So even though I felt as though God were far away it was then that I begun to press in closer to Him and thus was "so close I couldn't feel Him." I didn't know it then, but, while I felt I was barely hanging on, it was then that I was safe in His arms.

I encourage you to continue to hold on. You are not alone in feeling this way-I think there are times when most Christians feel this way. Just keep pressing in and rely on His word and not on how you feel.

Thanks Shepherd and Brittany.

It's hard to put into words. I know everyone walks through valleys at various times in their lives; I don't mean to complain.

Hockey Fan,

I really don't know what you are going through, but with me I serve others and that lifts my spirits. This puts my focus on Jesus and others and not myself.

Also reading the Psalms or Job will lift my spirits. There were times I would read a Psalm and then pray that Psalm. Other times I will pick up my harmonicas and play to the Lord. Music does wonders for our soul.

2 Kings 3:15 "But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the Lord came upon him." (Elisha)

Hi HF,

I would like to tell you something. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! It is at these times that the Lord your God, has you in His care and it is at these times where most of the transformation is going to occur. It is my experience, that whenever you feel at a loss or isolated from God, that this is when alot of the preparation and groundwork is going on behind the scenes. I believe HF, that you are about to step into a whole new outlook and positioning and that you are going to experience a renewed connection and commitment to the Divine. Chin up and expect great things to happen. And of course we would all like you to come back and give us the good news Amen!

Numbers 6:22-27

"“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”’

Amen.

Yeah, in contrast to what you posted from Romans 8, I have felt separated from God and abandoned by God. I'm sure I'm not alone feeling like that.

"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"
Matthew 27:46 and Mark 15:34

To me this is one of the most heart wrenching statements of Yeshua. Sometimes, our human feelings overwhelm us and we feel as if G-d has abandoned us. Psalm 22 reveals more of what had to be great emotional pain.

One thing is for sure. We have no capacity to appreciate the utterly horrific experience of having the sins of the world put upon the Son of G-d as He hung, in excruciating pain, from that cross. The spiritual sense of being forsaken must have been just as great or greater than the physical pain.

2 Cor 5:21 (Complete Jewish Bible)
God made this sinless man be a sin offering on our behalf, so that in union with him we might fully share in God’s righteousness.”
John 6:39 (CJB)
And this is the will of the One who sent me: that I should not lose any of all those he has given me but should raise them up on the Last Day.

Deut 31:6 (CJB)
Be strong, be bold, don’t be afraid or frightened of them, for Adonai your God is going with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you
Deut 31:8 (CJB)
But Adonai — it is he who will go ahead of you. He will be with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you, so don’t be afraid or downhearted.”
Joshua 1:9 (CJB)
Haven’t I ordered you, ‘Be strong, be bold’? So don’t be afraid or downhearted, because Adonai your God is with you wherever you go
Hebrews 13:5 (CJB)
Keep your lives free from the love of money; and be satisfied with what you have; for God himself has said, “I will never fail you or abandon you.”

Definition of forsake
Abandon someone or something; Renounce or give up something valued or pleasant.

Did G-d really forsake and abandon Yeshua?
