I find my result on this test interesting, since I had some very liberal answers and other very conservative answers:

What Kind of Catholic Are You? - Beliefnet.com

You Are a Divine Office (Moderately Traditional) Catholic

The Second Vatican Council was much needed, as far as you're concerned, but you see no reason to push the church further in the direction of change, as many progressives urge. You like the dynamic combination of the traditional approach toward doctrine with the opening of the church to the world that Pope John Paul II (your favorite pope) represented. As far as liturgy is concerned, a reverent Mass in the vernacular is your favorite, as is a vernacular hymn with a feeling for the transcendent such as "Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence." When Nicole Kidman returned to her childhood Catholicism and regular Mass attendance, you were thrilled.
I agree with progressive Catholics on certain things but, then again, I disagree with their tendency to politicize almost everything, just as I disagree with the tendency of conservative Catholics to politicize almost everything.

If you are a nun, I don't want to hear how you are a feminist and therefore demand women in the priesthood. If you are a Catholic who happens to be a popular radio host, I don't want to hear that voting Democrat is a ticket to hell.

I believe that Vatican II was a great idea and I value John XXIII as one of the greatest popes. I think that more changes should be made, like allowing for divorce in extreme circumstances and having a married priesthood, but I don't think there should be radical change.

I believe that Martin Luther was right in demanding certain reforms and that, under tragic circumstances, Protestantism began, considering that he never wanted to start a separate church in the first place. I believe that reforms made within Catholicism since the Reformation, especially in Vatican II, have been in the right direction.

I love contemporary liturgical music as well.

I got the same result you did, and I didn't even know Nicole Kidman returned to the Church.

I thought the problem was too many question with no answer that reflected my beliefs or practices or... like what should Bishops do about something. I have no idea what Bishops "should" do. Not my place to say.

I suppose things things are diverting, but I don't think they are very useful, really.

Liked your music.

I think the vast majority of American Catholics are moderate. They might disagree with the Vatican on certain issues while not wanting too much change. If someone asks me why remain in the Catholic Church despite having strong disagreements with it, it's because I crave liturgical worship, the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, and the sense of belonging to an ancient, global faith.

You Are a Daily Rosary (Very Traditional) Catholic

You'd like the church to revive the time-honored devotions, liturgical practices, and strong institutional discipline that prevailed before the Second Vatican Council—and you're hoping that Pope Benedict XVI will lead the church in exactly that direction. Your favorite hymn is probably a traditional Latin composition such as the "Panis Angelicus," and your favorite pope is probably a pioneer of the Church's great liturgical tradition such as Gregory the Great.

Mine came up as;

You Are a Daily Rosary (Very Traditional) Catholic

However, some of the questions didn't have the appropriate answer, such as, "Priest should only be men because Jesus only chose men."

This is incorrect as to why theologically, women can not become priest.

Also, as to the types of prayer, I do more than just one form, which was listed. I chose Centering Prayer, by I also pray the Liturgy of the Hours and the Rosary.

Pretty much right on the money there...

I didn't like the multiple choice answers. Too boxy & slanted. Especially the one about Mary. Not enough detail & too drastic in the differences in choices which were kind of extreme. Anyway, the result is:

So did Katie Holmes. Being around Tom Cruise and Scientology will send you running back to the Church apparently.

Edit to add: Mine was You Are a Daily Rosary (Very Traditional) Catholic

I agree - some questions just werent - satisfactory.
I did find some were tough because i could have chosen 2 answers. But stuck with the more important.
Thankfully - some questions included 2 answers into 1.

Now, I answered if I were to convert to Catholicism like...right now.
You Are a Divine Office (Moderately Traditional) Catholic
I guess i'm likely right on the line between moderately traditional and moderately progressive.

The progressive will melt away eventually.
We are called to put on a new man - ie thru grace God will change th heart and soul.

Progressives want something impossible. They want to change the unchanging. They want to run the Church and do so democracy style where they chose.

It appears Traditional - which the Church is - is a good one for you. Shows you are 'getting it' somehow.

I do wish they would chose another word for "Progressive". That word really "rubs me the wrong way" because all the "progressives" that I can name believe in eugenics (Margaret Sanger, Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, George Bernard Shaw, FDR, even Hillary Clinton, Sebelius, Gore, and many more.)
