Christians don't need persecutors... they have each other.
Isn't this a little inconsistent, brother?

I don't think it's persecution unless he's actually suffering for Christ. A few negative comments by fellow Christians is just a minor annoyance, if that. Meanwhile people are being beaten for their faith. So yeah, it's not persecution imho.

My point, exactly.

Everyone has their own perception & definition of the word "persecution" and could be argued for years without unanimously coming to an agreement.

Let us all agree to this: Chick-fil-a will be receiving negative responses and a financial backlash for supporting our Lord Jesus Christ's views on the sanctity of marriage.

That is wrong and I will continue to buy from that restaurant.

Their food still tastes the same. I don't care about their head poomba's religion or politics. Now, if they mess up my drive-thru order again, I may boycott them.

Think of how many homeless could be helped by all those donations!

Chick-fil-A Bowl Charitable Giving

42 for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; 43 I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ 44 Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not [e]take care of You?’ 45 Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ 46 These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Matthew 6:3
But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

...I am a hypocrite for posting this though...for I myself could do more for the poor and do not. If I were to give away money though...it might be better in serving the Lord's instruction.

Chick-fil-a banned from Chicago, Illinois.

A Chicago politician said he will block Chick-fil-A from opening a restaurant in his ward, following anti-gay marriage remarks by the fast food chain's president.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino sent Cathy a letter informing him "There is no place for discrimination on Boston's Freedom Trail and no place for your company alongside it."

Alderman Joe Moreno, who represents Chicago's Logan Square neighborhood, plans to use his aldermanic privilege, a Chicago tradition in which City Council members defer to aldermen on local matters, to block the restaurant's permit.

In Chicago, residents in Moreno's ward have expressed mixed opinions that the fast food restaurant won't be coming to their neighborhood

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee organized a "Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day" for Aug. 1.

"The goal is simple: Let's affirm a business that operates on Christian principles and whose executives are willing to take a stand for the godly values we espouse by simply showing up and eating at Chick Fil-A on Wednesday, August 1," Huckabee wrote on Facebook.

As of this afternoon, more than 117,000 people had indicated they'd participate in the event. Sen. Rick Santorum said on Twitter today that he was eating lunch at Chick-fil-A with five of his children.

"Enjoying chick-in-strips and an awesome peach shake at Chick-fil-A. See you here next Wednesday!" he tweeted.

But is it "good" for our Lord Jesus Christ?
I guess the chik-filla people believe Jesus would agree with them, and the chik-filla boycotting people believe Jesus would agree with them. Guess we won't know who's right unjtil we die, or the second comming.

You're not certain whether our Lord Jesus Christ is for or against gay-marriage?
I have my own beliefs about that. I THINK I'm right. But I won't actually know until I die or the second coming, and have the chance to ask him directly, will I?

Either way, I think both groups are to be admired for making a stand for their principles, even though I believe one of them is fundamentally wrong.

I've never been to Chik Fil A, as we don't have them in my area. That said, I tend to pick restaurants based on whether I enjoy the food, not on the political stances of their CEOs. Although I admit that I do have a special fondness for Wendy's because their food is as good or better than any other fast food chain AND the Dave Thomas Foundation does some great work.

Looks like the pros and cons will cancelled out one another. All this will soon blow over unless Mr. Cathey does more to keep the issue in the spotlight.

He is free to speak his mind and his opponents are free to do so. He never said his business would refuse to serve homosexuals or employ them. I'm sure he has a good number of them on the payroll.

Most desired questions the media/people are asking…

1. Did the stress of dealing with the pro gay-marriage attack overwhelm him?

2. Was it the food?

3. Was he poisoned?

4. Was it just his time?

Persecution? Puhleeeeeze. Persecution would be burning down his stores, vandalizing them, etc. A relatively small number will stop eating at his restaurants. The franchise is well known for it's traditional values and being closed on Sundays. Other than the brief publicity and controversy, this will not harm business. It might even help it as supporters make more visits to his restaurants.

Why do we have to cry "persecution" at every inconvenience?:preach:

Would persecution include government officials threatening to close their stores or prevent them from opening new ones or extortionists trying to interrupt their business and scare away or inconvenience their customers?
