I am a new Christian. I come from Thailand where there are not many Christians. Most of us are Thai Buddhist. I was Buddhist before missionary brought me to Jesus. This has caused trouble with family and some friend. That is OK. Christ is worth it. I am university student at Kasertsart University in Bangkok. I take science classes and conflict can happen. Some new Christian friends say I must believe a new way. Evolution is wrong and the earth is 6,000 years old. This is not taught in my classes. I come to this place for support in belief and to talk to Christians.

Sawadee krap khun Somchai. It is good to see somebody else from Thailand posting here.
I have had many discussions on the subject of a young earth and evolution with friends and with others on message boards. My own opinion is that whatever your thoughts on the matter, they are not really very important in the big scheme of things regarding Christianity.
