• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Proof that I am God.

I know the title is fairly silly, but I just wanted to make quite an interesting point:

The only thing that I can know is real, is my own mind. As I (relative to my understanding) am as a person myself the most real thing I know/ And for all I know everyone else may not be "real"

Anselms law states:

God is the greatest possible thing thinkable, and that therefore because existing is far greater than not existing. God must exist.

Therefore, is it not fair to say? That as god must be real (as it is far greater than not being real) And the only reality I can be certain of, is my own.

God therefore can only be me, as I am the most real thing imaginable to me.

I am god? - discuss.

You are certain of your reality? how did you come to that conclusion?

I for one doubt that you exist. I also doubt that I exist. Prove one of us exist, and then we'll have a contest to judge which of us deserves the god title more.

Yes, but why are you certain? Is this just an innate feeling, or did you come to this conclusion based on evidential deduction?

I came to the conclusion that I am real purely form a pragmatic standpoint. I exist because it is to my advantage to think that I do, whether I am or not is irrelevant.

You say that you exist, and that may be true, but what is "YOU?" Moreover, what do you consider being "REAL" to entail? You could certainly be a real fake person.

You could be mistaken that you are thinking, for example computer programs can be made to insist (without merit) that they have thoughts and feelings.

I'm a writer, and my characters sometimes insist that they are real and that they have their own thoughts and feelings. How can you be certain that the thoughts you have are your own, and not imposed by some outward force?

In other words, are you the puppet or the puppeteer?

Belief in existance is an advantage because not doing so is a disadvantage.

To believe that I am not real is to suppose that my actions do not matter, to suppose that I am real is to believe that my actions do matter. In either case my options are to do what is in my best interest.

Basically, whether I am real or not doesn't change how I should live my life. It changes how I percieve my life.

I question the premise that something real must be greater than something not real, in that something real must conform to reality and be self-consistent. Something not real has no such limitation.

^As far as you know he is only not god in your mind. Subjectively that is. Sounds like a reverse god complex.
As far as I know, according to the OP that is, I only exist. He may not even exist at all and especially not as god. So not only is he not god but may not exist in the first place. Oh, and I am not the one questioning the status of myself as a god.

Yes, and also according to the OP only we know that we personally exist just as he only know he exists. So, he may not exist at all in our mind. Again, that is all according to the OP.

So no, your point is unclear.

Satan is clearly blinding you.

Repent to the one true God .
